Rize was banned for aggressively attacking people. Not for being really annoying. That's the difference. Every time Splendour really attacks someone she ends up with infraction points, but she does the smart thing and calms down and stays out of trouble for a while.

As it was said before, it becomes impossible to engage ITF when a super troll is taking every thread off the rails. Even if you have them on ignore, you still see their quoted posts. They cause so much noise that any input you may have gets drowned out. There are many of us who come here for honest debate and actually care about the subject matter. Simply ignoring a prolific troll doesn't fix the problem.
The problem is that it is not just her that is the issue. It's the people responding to her. If she constantly went into threads and made off topic posts and clogged the thread up by blogging I would deal with it. But what happens is that 4 people jump in and immediately have a conversation with her.
I set up things so that if people wanted to insure that their thread stayed on topic they could create a HC thread. No one is doing that, so I must assume that no one really cares if their threads to way off topic.

I used to flag posts that were severely off topic. You and OrP were good about deleting posts for a while, but that came to an end when you realized you're be deleting 25+ posts per day. Now, you've had posters like myself, kurto, hopey, dominic and neeeel (among others) finally fed up with the constant tangents and started calling her out on general principle. She's self banned again (for the 20th time) but will probably be back in a few days.
That's exactly it. I will not delete entire threads because I don't think the conversation is fruitful. The forum decides what topics are worthy of discussion by responding to other posters. OrP and I have tried to give everyone as much freedom in discussion as we can and only step in when someone is crossing the line in the way they are treating other posters. We don't want to be the arbiter (sp?) of discussions.
I am sorry if you are not happy with the current state of things, but I cannot pass rules that only apply to one poster and I fear that if I change the rules in the way that you are asking it would have an unfavorable effect on the rest of the forum and the natural flow of discussion that most people like on RGT.
