Splendour, i know its not a huge issue but your "..." is not actual punctuation, and is really annoying. It kind of incinuates "oh i don't really know" like a tailing off of the voice, and I end up reading it like that, and you sound like you have no idea. Maybe if your punctuation worked you'd make more sense.
I don't wanna be a grammar or spelling police man, and I normally don't care because the meaning gets through. Language evolution etc..
But your triple dot instead of comma's or semi-colons, colons etc. just reads as you have no real idea what your saying, or what your saying is left unsaid.

It's good that you don't want that; you'd be terrible.

Rly..name a few and prove that assertion.

And explain the distinction between a lurker and a regular poster and why I should credit a lurker with knowing any where near as much about the history of this forum as a longtime poster.

I think it suits her, and should serve as an early warning system to newbies. Joey does the same thing.

Would a hypocrisy and incoherency thread be allowed? One where you posted two posts, which directly contradicted each other?
Or a thread where you just posted things that make no sense; so as to demand a better explanation?

No. And "demanding" an explanation is pretty inappropriate. Nobody owes you an explanation, you can ask politely though.

Sometimes I think atheists are immature. But then I realize there are demographic differences. I wonder if we'll see more nuanced atheist positions as more and more atheists get older.

In my experience, it becomes less nuanced because it becomes less important. Similarly, it's young people who 'rail against the state' old people just complain about it.

It's too bad. I used to think that the grounded wisdom we see in spiritual disciplines could easily be preserved in a secular world, but I'm not so sure any more. People may need a, an "incentive" to look beyond what's in front of their noses, and I'm not sure there exists a good secular incentive for most people.

I'm curious enough that I just like exploring mentally, so I think I've at least developed an appreciation (if not an understanding) of these things, but a lot of people seem awfully concerned with only looking straight ahead.

This is an interesting line of thought. What promted it?

I really don't remember.

(Must have been something for me to just up and post in this thread, but I have no idea.)

RGT alignment meme, if anyone can do it could be funny IMHO.
I'd say,
Lawful good=Controversial, but I wanna say Concerto. The most approachable and logical of the theists. Resolute and stays unemotional. Seems to care about atheists. I may be giving too much credit...

Neutral good=Bunny; Good, logical, approachable. Doesn't take sides to eagerly. Crosses borders

Chaotic good= Greatest I Am. Random discussions, but aims to enlighten not be controversial

Lawful neutral= I wanna say ICheckForValue- has no real position just makes sure everything seems relatively fair

True neutral= I'm leaning to BigPerm

Chaotic neutral= No one comes to mind

Lawful evil= Pletho. He is right just and correct, but ask about him and you are breaking the rules. DIVIDE!!! Maybe rizeagainst though, he's got the logical attacking gloves primed at all times. Tis enjoyable.

Neutral evil= I wanna say DSklansky, but lots of people who pop their heads up regularily could go here

Chaotic evil= Splena. Yeah I did it.

I forsee a ban.... but i'm not wanting to offend and obvs everyone will see it differently. Apologies ahead for any offence, but bear in mind its all in good humour, and "evil" is a relative term. I really do not think most people here are evil. People are generally good, posting style on the other hand....

EDIT= I like kurto and agree with him on most things, but I think he should be in the evil gang for sure.
Also, sorry if any regs feeel they should be in. i know im a relative noob so apologies. I feel stu pidasso should be somewhere, as jibninja but ive never actually seen him much

I like:

Get lost
Forget what he was doing
Stuff things up completely

Simply because they're all things we can do which an omnipotent being can't.

I really really really really really really really wish people who clearly don't have a hound's notion about Orwell would stop invoking him whenever they want to make a cheap point.
