Jib you should use Ning.com for this. You can start your own social network and upload videos etc....

You should also get your own domain name. Search engines give .tk domain names no weight whatsoever so its hard to get listed. You can buy a domain and have it forward to you your account at ning.com (jibpoker.ning.com)

There are also free tube clone scripts like http://www.vidiscript.com/ where you just need some server space that will allow you to make a few edits to the server set up.

I will look into that. The problem that I have come across is that every site that I have come across that lets you upload your videos compresses them funky and they come out really ****ty. Right now I am using Microsoft silverlight, which makes you upload as a .wmv, but does not mess with the file at all. I have been able to get a 32min video down to 55MB with awesome quality, so I would like to be able to keep the quality.

Yeah, I came across this a while back. The problem is that I am using a free web hosting site, so I do not have the ability to set certain things like I would want. I am working on a better way to get the videos on right now, but I need help with some PHP stuff. So if you know PHP and could help that would be awesome.

Anyway, thank you for the comments. I will look into the ning.com thing and see if they mess with the videos at all.

I know PHP and may be able to help with that, though I know very little about embedded videos.

I think its a great idea you just need to set it up correctly. I think people will post videos quite a bit and look for reviews and insight. I guess when you have more money you should get a tube script that allows banner advertising and what not so you can make money off ads. Tube sites devour bandwidth. I couldn't get a video to play on your site using Firefox... At any rate a lot of these scripts will allow you to set the compression, resolution and size of any video that is uploaded. That being said you will need your own server where you can configure the server settings to suit your needs. No free and virtual hosting will allow you to do this. Its a great idea though and I think it would work with the right set up.

That would be awesome. To do what I am trying to do will not have anything to do really with the video itself. More so just PHP forms and being able to populate new pages and data within certain pages. I will pm you at some point with exactly what I am trying to do, and the you can tell me if you can help. Anything would be great.

Jib try http://www.viddler.com and embed them onto your site. I think they allow higher resolution vids

Thank you. I think it should work out well, just working on the best way to set it up, like you said. I think the fact that it has it's own forum should work out nice for discussion of the videos.

I have been thinking that once I get it going a little that I will offer rakeback through the site. Seems just natural.

I have heard that some people have had issues. I believe that it is not firefox, because I run firefox and have no issues, but that it has to do with the codecs. Also could have to do with the silverlight site. But I found a new site today called ********

I does not mess with your compression and allows you to upload up to 1GB with no time limit. It does convert it to an .flv but allows you to use your original as well. But I found that even after they converted it the quality was the same, which is awesome. Being in .flv format with some more universal codecs should make all of the difference, and I believe that everyone should be able to view it. Once I get the videos transferred over I will let you know, and then you can tell me if it fixed the issue.

I did try them. The quality was better than some sites, but not great. I just posted the site that I found, which is absolutely perfect for what I need and the quality is as good as the originals even after the conversion to .flv

Awesome. I did not know that we had any web guys here. I will send you the same PM that I send madnak and you guys can let me know your input. I do not think that it should be hard, but PHP is just a little over my head and not as easy to learn on your own as html.

Alright, so the new site redesign has pretty much been finished. All props go to Our House as he did most of what you see and is responsible for 100% of the new functionality. I did most of the banner except for the "jib poker" part, so if you think it is crappy then blame me.

So I would love everyones input and those that could not watch the video before, please let know if it is working for you now as I am using a different hosting site for the videos.

And if anyone has videos that they have made of themselves, please sign up and post them.
