I found a part time job that i am extremely well qualified for, except for one bit.

Quote:
We are looking for about 3 people who can work about 10-15 hours per week, spread through out week and their school schedule.
We would also like to work with semi retired and skilled engineers who can still change and learn, machinists with skills but no machines, diabled vets who wants to learn new skills.
Prefer non-smoking, non-drinking christian people of high quality to work with on this team.

Miquel Tajada (sp?) said he believes God will decide who wins the Padres/Giants game tomorrow and who goes to the playoffs.

Why didn't you insist she put down your true belief? (or lack of belief in this case)

Oic the stupid threads like this one: Is religion a mental virus?...continue.

There's no mental virus. VMAT-2 genes and brain hardwiring for spirituality disprove that there is a virus. Virus is a physical term. Are ideas physical?

Of course if you've been reading Dawkins I doubt any of his pompous know it all statements makes mention of the biological facts of the brain hardwiring or the VMAT-2 gene.

So Dawkins is confusing in his usage of physical terms but his posing as an authority obscures that. He really should be playing poker instead of doing biology since he runs a bluff so well it looks real.

Try googling on the topic of NEUROTHEOLOGY.

That is all.

gl...I think I'd play up my communication skills...everyone interviewing will most likely have the math skills but it's the one that can get the math across so people absorb it the most easily that would win the job imo.

Thanks. I'm not too worried about having to play up my communication skills. I was 9th in the nation in debate in college, and I taught a few classes with 200+ students in them

How do they arrive at that debate ranking?

They take your top 6 or 8 debate showings and compare that to other peoples top 6 or 8 showings.

Good luck. What level is the course? What are you planning on covering?

It is basic college algebra 100 level. I haven't decide my lecture yet. Luckily, I have my old lecture notes from when I taught last.

GL. You should (re)watch Dead Poets Society before going in and tell them you're a scrappy intellectual who wants to teach the students in strange and idiosyncratic ways, that will inspire them to become better human beings.
