This is a bit harsh, I think. While I agree that some religious institutions raise gross amounts of money that go to lavish cars and houses for the people in charge, there is still a reality that religious institutions have buildings, staff, supplies, etc. that require funds to manage. In addition to community and other humanitarian activities. There's nothing wrong with charging, as long as they are not taking advantage.

Yeah I tend to agree that there is nothing wrong with asking for donations as well, considering how much the church does for the individual. its the taking advantage part that is on my mind. I generally think it would be interesting to see how a church that is privately funded would run.

There could still be donation drives to help out the community and citizens.

In a week, I'll be moving from San Diego to Denver. Tomorrow I'm making gumbo for some friends as they need a Louisiana boy to teach them how. Friday, I say goodbye to my old thesis advisor and eat philipino food with some other friends. I'm gonna be so fat by the time I leave.

Do your serve up a green roux or brown? And how are you getting boudin in San Diego?

Better look out for those cacti in Denver. I know there's one with your name on it.

Napalm? I guess you can put hot sauce in anything. Alpine is a nice area.

Oh no not another brush fire....I remember when Miramar and maybe parts of Escondido burned down a few years back. It doesn't ever rain there so everything is dry.

And congrats on the paper. I'll be honest though, I'm never gonna read it. I like math and all, but my guess as to what an 'arc colored tournament' is has nothing to do with math.

I finished the book years ago. Rubik's cube doesn't take much time, and its cognac, do you think my friend and I would waste it?

old news but I just saw this

Only 4 in 10 americans Believe in Evolution
http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/da...evolution.aspx

"Younger Americans, who are less likely to be religious than those who are older, are also more likely to believe in evolution. Still, just about half of those aged 18 to 34 say they believe in evolution."

hmmmm, yay i guess

"Americans' religious beliefs are a significant predictor of their attitudes toward Darwin's theory. Those who attend church most often are the least likely to believe in evolution, and most likely to say they do not believe in it."

doh
