AiG look to be confirming the story (Intolerant Atheists Viciously Attack Christian School, snappy title), stating that these are AiG resources.

There's a couple of points here:
(i) When other Christians question what harm religion is doing, particularly wrt science education (training of the "Were you there?" reflex), they should be directed to stories like this. I can't think any of the Christian regs on RGT condone this type of education, but they might not all be aware of it.
(ii) Christianity has this built-in self fulfilling prophecy in that scripture talks about how Christians will be mocked, ridiculed, hated etc - so when they do something bad and they are called on it, that negative backlash is already anticipated, and only serves to strengthen their beliefs, even the bad ones. It is, arguably, ineffective.

I'm an atheist and all, but it's certainly not the belly button thing that sells it for me. If Adam and Even needed to reproduce, their offspring would be like them and would require bellybuttons to survive in the womb. So the belly buttons weren't for Adam and Eve, but rather for their offspring.
