Ha! That one rubs me the wrong way. I doubt even Max Raker "believes" in string theory. It's an intriguing conjecture with some pretty math backing it up (so I've heard), but with no experimental evidence behind it I don't think a belief can be justified. I would bet that most atheists don't believe in string theory and wouldn't be surprised at all if most atheists haven't even heard of string theory.
