this is actually really interesting. I have never really thought much about how pretty much all of witnessing is an appeal to emotion. If that doesn't work, they are **** out of luck. I have never met someone that was actively witnessing that could handle a rational question. Not to say that there are not people out there like that, I just haven't met them.
I wonder how many times they get your question as the opening line. Which I do feel is the most appropriate question to ask.
