As Moses lifted the Serpent in the Wilderness... As Moses lifted the Serpent in the Wilderness...

I think we've just about hit every issue here at RGT, except this one.

I don't really think there are too many people in the world qualified to answer this question; but, is Jesus Lucifer?

I don't mean this in a bad way either. I mean...how fitting would it be for the "guy" who took everyone down to lift everyone up?

John 3:14

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

I suppose if Jesus had referred to him as himself, that might hold water. But, I'm pretty sure he didn't.

The whole Bible seems to me to be depicting the Satan as the good guy and God as the bad guy. God creates Adam and Eve, wants to keep them in some type of "basement" away from knowledge so that they are stupid forever. Satan shows up and tells them, hey God is a dick and doesn't want to share with you all that you should be able to have, gives them knowledge and for the first time Adam and Eve are actually now aware of many things surrounding them. God constantly murders and imposes immoral actions of poor humans yet how often do you see Satan do this? I think the conclusion can be reached that the reason why Satan was punished by God is because he was one of the first few who realized that God is a dick. With this version of the story now the Bible makes some sense to me... God is evil and a dick , Satan realized that tried to stand against his injustice so got punished... Satan is the good guy, God is the bad guy...

The serpent represents the devil's image that he is trying to cast over mankind but when the Son of Man is lifted up it overcomes the devil's image and restores man to his true God intended image.

This has always struck me, too. If the bad side is really the "lord of lies," how can you be sure you're trusting the right side? Maybe the entire bible is the test to see if you'll side with evil and even try to justify it when threatened with hell, or if you're willing to stand up and say, "No, this is wrong," regardless of the consequences?
