The poker community is aglow with PS doing the right thing by the players of FTP. Rightly so!

With all the positive press going on about PokerStars, I'd like to point out that the PokerStars now ex-CEO Isai Scheinberg is Israeli/Jewish.

Jews have unfairly been associated with some of the negative aspect of money, namely due to historical circumstance [1][2].

It certainly doesn't help that there are the occasional Madoff's of the world -- whom both Jews and non-Jews view as evil -- that help reinforce these unfair and biased stereotypes.

So, I'd like to propose that the PS settlement and repayment of player funds (through the USDOJ) helps to counter this historical form of antisemitism that is still present in culture.

Cheers.

Lol. I'm Jewish, grew up in a town that was 80% Jewish, and I don't know one person who is offended by the "antisemitism" between Jews and $$$. It's actually funny. Stop being so butthurt

Part of the problem with this meme is because of people generalizing to all Jews the actions of a few. I don't know why you think it is a good thing to combat this by generalizing the actions of one Jew just because it is a good action.

Jews have been unfairly associated with inflation? I can't think of any other negative aspects of money.

I think you mean negative human attributes deriving from want of money, particulary greed.

Also, citing ridiculous articles with ridiculous claims doesn't make what you claim more substantial. It absolutely amazes me if your OP was in earnest because I find it hard to believe that someone could think that way. I'd like to end on the following note: Jesus is Lord [1].

I am part Jewish (heritage not religion, you have no idea how much I get for not specifying occasionally) and out of all groups that have been discriminated against, they seem to complain the most. I mean I don't believe anyone deserves what they went through during the Holocaust but more likely than not, you were not personally affected. Same with slavery. What is past, is past. Let it go

i guess one reason why it's on my mind is that i was playing in AC the other weekend and someone at the table started making jew and money comments, totally unprovoked.... while it didn't put anyone at the table on tilt -- and i think that was the intent -- it was totally uncalled for... so it's alive and well...
