I think it's mixed. I've been a fan of science fiction all my life - so was C.S. Lewis and many other Christians. However, I believe there are atheists whose main interest in et is to undermine theism. I don't think that's an argument against space exploration, however, nor would anyone get very far if they asked for funds for that reason. Their ulterior motives are irrelevant, they just have to make a reasonable case, which they often do.

Where in the universe are angels and demons? I mean that literally, where are they? I know we generally assign meaningless physical directions to god and the devil, up and down, but since we live on a sphere I think that causes more problems than it answer questions, but angels and demons are not god who can be everywhere at once (in hell too?), and since we're talking about extraterrestrial life I'm assuming that you mean that these things must have discrete form, there must be some here on the Earth with us and the rest are elsewhere, so where are the rest?

So since Ham is 100% convinced that there is not intelligent extraterrestrial life because of lolthebible, if in fact something like that was discovered, would he then denounce the bible, or use some mental gymnastics to totally discount what was said in the OP?

Since he didn't define 'intelligent' he has plenty of wriggle room (not to mention all the errors that his argument/view point contains), but in any case I think he's pretty safe. It's highly unlikely we'll ever discover 'intelligent' extraterrestrial life. Bacteria on Europa, possible, maybe it's even probable, but little green men in space ships? Unlikely. Besides, he had a look with this telescope and didn't see any, so that's that.

Ken Ham clarifies: Defund NASA’s search for alien life to build more Creation Museums

Not sure why he needed to clarify, anyone who read his article properly would have understood that's what he was saying. But he's still confusing alien life with alien intelligence.
Quote:
“Because of their rejection of biblical authority, they’re certainly wasting millions of dollars,” Ham said. “Think of what we could do with the millions of dollars that they’re wasting looking for life in outer space.”
Says the guy who wants to spend $147 million to build a Noah's ark theme park. How about spending that on doing some good Ken?

Did you see Kentucky actually voted to give him money to build his ****ty ark. I don't see how it's legal

No, I thought that had been squished. But, I think that what they must have given him is tax incentives, not actual tax payers money.

This. At least according to our local news in Nashville yesterday. Something like 120 mil in incentives. I haven't had the time to corroborate it yet

Ok I was off on the number.

18.25 million in incentives. That's still nutso.

And oh yeah, in the same budget that's approving those incentives... cuts to education.

I don't even know

Reminds me of the line from one of Monty Python's songs:

And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space
Because there's bugger all down here on Earth

Which is pretty much what Ham himself says in his follow up blog post. If irony meant what most people think it does, that would be ironic.
