Isn't Evil Part of G-d's Creation? Isn't Evil Part of G-d's Creation?

If G-d created everything, and is in control of everything, doesn't it stand to reason that G-d created Evil as well? And if so, isn't fighting evil the same as fighting G-d?

There is a long thread currently on the problem of evil: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/13...n-god-1261348/

I would suggesting closing this thread and continuing on there.

A hero is not a hero without an adversary.

Re-purpose the thread then, perhaps we could discuss not whether or not god allows evil but whether or not god IS evil. There's a strong case to be made for that.

A most excellent question.

I don't think it matters. One god or multiple gods, we'd be discussing their responsibility for all the torturings, massacres and genocides described in our history (and still ongoing), how they'd allow the beings they created to suffer such awful misery, or be the instrument of it, and why they'd set up the initial conditions of our universe with such pitiless effect.

There are many charges laid at the door of the gods including almost unmeasurable sadism and deliberate premeditated barbarism on a horrific scale. The simple explanation is often the correct explanation and the simple explanation in this case is that god, or the gods, is/are evil.

Anyone up for that?
