That is not my position at all and to be frank is a cheap sad shot at my character just becasue I dont hold the same believe as yours.

I hate plenty of people IRL and never have or never would, cheat, scam swindle or do anything untoward to them. I simply stay out of their way and do my best to keep them out of my life!

Cheap shot STU. Sad.

Seems likea a lot of atheists claim that we are expected to worship God of the Bible just because He created us. If you're going to go as far as to hypothetically accept God's existence, then I think it's a poor hypothetical if youre not accepting other truth claims of the Bible. Namely, that God does much more than simply create us; He is the living, active God.

God himself is mandating worship, so you have it a bit twisted, I think. Accepting the existence of the Biblical God also means we're hypothetically accepting the truth claims of the Bible, and it's his actions that make him unworthy of worship.

I posted in the other thread, so sorry to repeat here if you've read that, but wouldn't only the Muslims dying be a sign that the Muslim God was right? If the Christian God did it, wouldn't he also kill off the Atheists, Jews, Hindus, and any Christian denominations that weren't right? The most likely reason, if God where involved, for only Muslims dying was that God was taking all the Muslims up to heaven, while the rest of us would have to suffer through some calamity.

I don't know or understand the purpose of worship besides thanking him for creating you. I really don't.

It is precisely this why I would thing God to be a vile, despicable creature. He's an all powerful, all loving, all merciful and just god, but the only way he can fix things is by killing everyone. Really? I should worship the god who creates homosexuals and then sentence them to death upon acting on their God given attraction to the same sex? It's fine that 42 people got killed because they made fun of a guys balding head?

It's precisely the other truth claims of the Bible that are the reason that I would despise the god of the Bible.

That sentence literally means nothing. ex: John did more than do his homework, John is the living and active John.

Christians are the same people that believe God wiped out the entire population except for 6 people. Why would their opinion of Him change if he suddenly decided to kill a billion people today?

The bible is filled with examples of God's childish wrath. Christians who would claim this *wasnt* God's doing are probably forgetting what they read in their Bible.

Yes but to do think this would mean they would accept another god is more likely than their own. So again they just jump to the conclusion that their god must now exists and that all the deaths must be for the greater good.

so so sad.
