A universal greeting would be Salam(mainly for Jews and Muslims) and is proper for Christians to say when meeting Jews or Muslims.

If one were to say Assalam alaikum(peace be upon you) to a Muslim( a traditional Muslim to Muslim greeting), then the Muslim receipient would probably believe the other to be Muslim.

InshAllah(God willing) is usually used among Muslims because it is arabic in origin.

As a convert, I do not use the arabic often, for it is not my culutre.

I do not try and fit Islam. Islam will fit anyone. All you have to do is change your heart and the belief within.

There is no requirement beyond this no matter what you have been led to believe.

You want to stick up for these people? You're nuts!

There is a problem in the Islamic world that is completely different to every other single religion out there. There are masses around the globe who want to establish an Islamic Caliphate. Israel and the boarders with the Palestinians means nothing. You are completely failing to see the bigger picture.

Unreal. Words cant express London Jimmys line of thinking.

Here are a few responses from a woman living in Palestine wrt the recent sniper attack in Gaza.

http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthrea...s-under-attack

Fighter jets were sighted early in the afternoon here. They were also sighted a month ago they have been planning this.

Two more dead. A gaza sniper killed a Israeli.

Palestine news has not caught up on this issue

The small girl (Palestinian) that was killed was from the al-Maghazi refugee camp

Helicopters and fighters jets flying above.

Israeli's tower lights have been activated.

If Allah wills Ukhti I'll stay safe. Allahu Amin.

A source in Kalandia has confirmed that Israelis have shut down the area and are on active solider duty

I wonder what its like right now to be living in Kalandia, that is for the normal everyday person having to deal with this nonsense
I believe things are looking up.

A whole bunch of Muslims and Christians actually hold aggressive/violent views toward gays. As a Catholic, I'm in full agreement with Pope Francis when it comes to human rights, Pope Francis says who am I to judge

Examples of Islamophibia

Examples of Islamophobia include attacking or making fun of your fellow human simply because he/she is gay.

This is the first time I have ever really made a pro "gay" post, I admit I was not sure If I was going to make the post.

Pope Francis says "who am I to judge" Its almost as if I don't need to explain any further when we have a man so tremendous such as Pope Francis explaining that us humans are not the judge, but God is.

Recently, a Gay Imam has started his own Masjid and unfortunately, some people online are saying very nasty things about this man. I never saw the big deal if two guys or two girls wanted to go to a court and get married, its not a big deal whatsoever.

Certainly things may change if a gay couple wants to get married at a church in the Vatican, this type of matter is up to the Pope in my view. Its not my position to say if a gay or lesbian couple can get married in a Christian or Islamic setting, this type of situation needs to be addressed by the administrators of the Church or Mosque. This applies to all Churches and Mosques around the world as I'm not a person of power when it comes to the Church Hierarchy, or leading Muslim Imams around the world.

In a PU thread, I presented folks with a viewpoint from a Nigerian doctor who concurs with me that gays should not be attacked, under no circumstances that is.

The doctor also believes that gays nor straights should be openly promiscuous in Public, I think this is a decent way to go because even if one considers homosexuality to be a sin, it does not mean gays should be subject to bullying or violence.

At the very same time, the extreme pro gay rights folks need to understand folks around the world are not going to change their viewpoints of homosexuality overnight. This includes countries like Russia and Nigeria who have controversial laws in many aspects, not just homosexuality. Its not my place to invade these countries with a military and or yell at them until they change their laws so us "liberal" folks in the USA are happy. It does not work like this folks.

One of the brilliant things the man(the Gay Imam) in the video below said was people who are rejected by a majority often hold to their views even stronger then those who are doing the rejecting. I praise the man for saying this, he could not have said it any better.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu0S0aNTOFU

He is Black, Muslim and Gay (ouch) triple whammy in the USA post 9/11 era. more than 60% of Americans rather to have a gay neighbor than a Muslim, so when you are both... it gets confusing! ..., he is asking, Does Islam have a place for gay and Lesbian... He may be the only openly gay imam in the world, and he formed Light of Reform mosque more than two years ago so people like himself could worship without fear.

How to Prevent Islamophobia

The religions of Abraham, the Muslims, The Jews and the Christians all have one central belief which is that God is one. The many Trinity believing Catholics believe in one God through the father, son, holy spirit. Jews believe in one God, Muslims believe in one God. Its even said that Hindus believe in one God through a manifestation of multiple figures.

Around the world we see dividers whose personal beliefs(not based on the Bible or Quran) include a belief that one group of people are better then another. This includes folks who think racial traits or a religious belief makes them better then another persons belief system. As a follower of one of the three religions of Abraham I can say this is factually incorrect, in fact one can note numerous verses from the Bible and Quran which explains a message of peace, equality and justice. The Quran says righteous Jews and Christians can have rewards with their lord. This is the message of equality that the Quran does preach by its own words,

Quran 2:62 Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans, those who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

This verse is clear, the verse literally says Jews or Christians, or Sabeans(in modern terms this can actually in part mean Atheist) who are righteous will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

There is no absolutely no proof to debunk the above, it very well may be debated but there is no way of suggesting the above can never be true.

The Bible also brings about a message of equality,

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Love your neighbor
could be anyone, any religion and there is no proof to actually suggest otherwise. It can be debated but there is absolutely no full proof to outright debunk the view that Love your neighbor means people of other religions

Why do you keep emphasizing that he is Nigerian and a doctor, how is either relevant? Also have no idea what being for treating people with a very basic level of civility [such as allowing them to be who they are rather than punishing them for it] has to do with invasions and stuff. I also have no idea what a "extremist gay rights" view is and welcome you to entertain me with some examples.
