There is evidence, fossils from the Cambrian explosion. It also fits very logically with our geological time scale and evolutionary development. Is it logical that God would create Earth for humans, but wait 14 billion years to put them on Earth? Then God had to come and save humanity after only a few thousand years, when the dinosaurs ruled the Earth for millions of years with no visits from God?
catholic church preaches works righteousness salvation and are hypocritical christians

fossils that got dates from carbon dating? u trust carbon dating also? I believe in a young earth so i dont think God waited 14 billion years

Are you familiar with the basic principle of carbon dating?

And more importantly, with Uranium-lead dating

Or do you prefer the Create Everything in Six Days method?

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and answer for him here and say NO. I'm guessing the only info he has gotten about carbon dating is from the truly awful tax cheat, liar, and fraud "Doctor" Kent Hovind.

I have more than just the argument of creation needs a creator that leads me to believe in God.

i don't think atheists avoid questions about the universe. infact atheists look for scientific proof to answer your question(s).

your statement should say "most (all) religions ignore scientific facts if it conflicts with their beliefs".

Plausible, yes. I'm not so arrogant as to claim I know for sure. Keep in mind it's also plausible for me to win the lotto, get struck by lightning or flop a royal flush.

It's just the Christian definition of creation has very close to a 0% chance of being correct. I'm not sure if you're Christian, you never mentioned...

I've heard theories that we all exist in a computer program, therefore "God" would be whoever created the program. I won't get into detail on them, but they were more valid imo than the Christian tale.

You don't seem to be a Bible thumper, so I'll assume you're coming more from a philisophical standpoint. From this standpoint, the desire for people to need to know there is a higher power, or someONE created us, is very explainable and understandable. It's just a shame that religion segregates humanity, when we are all in the same boat. When scientific theories are accepted, they are accepted world wide. No theory of God has been accepted in this way.

You really should just get to the point. Without the understanding of the break down of isotopes nuclear reactors would never exist.

iamunlucky, do you believe in nuclear reactors?

BTW, all of these "creation needs a creator" arguments need to stop. Everything we know to be created (TVs, chairs, cars, houses, etc...) can be observed during their creation process. We know they are created because they are not found in a natural state and we know of other similar items that we can compare with them that were also known to be created. However, everything found in nature is different from what we create with our minds and bodies. We also do not have another universe or planet that we KNOW to have been created to compare with so your argument has no base to even start with. When you find something of comparable quality and structure as our own universe then you'll have something to start a new topic with on 2+2.

That would be equally wrong, IMO. The Catholic Church accepts the big bang and evolution along with rejecting young earth creationism and intelligent design. On the scale of the worldwide religious, I think you're taking a relatively small group of people, who make a lot of noise, and confusing them with "most (all) religions."
