Generally I believe the stuff God directed toward a specific city or time period can be disregarded nowadays. For example, God commanded males to be circumcised in the old testament. But nowadays most Christians don't consider it a requirement of God's like they did back then.
It is open to interpretation though, which is why wouldn't be angry that someone won't mention God's name. I'd disagree with them, but I wouldn't care too much. That kind of thing doesn't matter to God. What does matter is who you believe God is.
