+1

But it would seem the FellaGaga believes that a religious organization can be a force for bad, but not for good. I'm sure that FellaGaga will correct me if I am misrepresenting his view.

Surely he can recognize that the lines at the grocery store are shorter on Sunday mornings. Clearly this is a good thing.

But those Sunday after church lunch crowds can be an awful mess...

Those are men of god exactly like the priest rapists and the priest non-rapists who cover for the rapists are. They are just men and the religion is irrelevant. Humans do good and bad, not the religion.

Fine. But this contradicts your earlier claim that religion itself is a force for bad.

So, do you agree that religion is sometimes a force for good, and sometimes a force for bad?

It is a fact that many people are motivated to do good things because of their religion. Their religion isn't just incidental to their good works.

It is literally impossible to be obedient to Jesus and knowingly do evil.

No. Yes. Maybe. Wait, can you repeat the question?

You are implying that no one is obedient.

Unless you are grading evil on a pretty generous curve.

People are obedient to varying degrees. While we are still in our physical bodies in this wicked world, we are all tempted to sin in different ways and in varying degrees. And most of us at some time or another succumb to the temptation.

I'll have to check my Dake Reference Bible and/or my Strong's Concordance to answer that.

The concept of being partially obedient doesn't make much sense. "He is somewhat faithful since he only cheats on his wife occasionally."

I agree that one cannot be partially obedient to being faithful to your wife. But one can be faithful to their wife, but be disobedient in some other ways. There are I suspect some rapists and murderers who are faithful to their wives, pay their taxes, don't get drunk, and pay a double-tithe to their church every month.

Those (and their counterpoints) are all simply disobedient. Doesn't particularly matter that you find some of their brands of disobedience more distasteful than others, as your taste in such matters is not remotely relevant.

It is evil not to sin when it is necessary.

Sin is sin. Adultery is adultery, robbery is robbery, murder is murder.

Evil only resides within the Church.

Such literal interpretation is boring. Sin is fun.

Sin is for sure fun for a season. But unless your sins are paid for by the blood of Jesus, your sins will send you into the Lake of Fire for eternity. And that would not be fun.

Agree. But some sins are worse than others (unless you don't believe that anything at all is a sin).

Do you have a justifiable argument, that any reasonable person would accept, for the truth of the above statement?

The Bible authenticates itself by shining with the glory of the One who inspired it - John Piper.

Evidence of the divine origin of the Bible:

Answers the "Big questions" of life
Scientific, archaeological and historical accuracy

Oh, oh, oh. I get it now. You're "special", right? You're a prophet.

Prophets are always misunderstood in their own time.

Tell us more.

What are you babbling about? I never said I was special or a prophet.
