It doesn't have good points because it makes many unfounded assertions.

True that your points mean nothing except to people who want to believe. And since you make up your mind what you want to believe and weakly tailor the facts to fit your world, your posts aren't compelling at all.

Unfounded assertions are exactly what athiest make. They say there is no God but assert this because they personally do not believe. They grab whatever scientific evidence they can to fight their battles but God is Spirit and cannot be analized or understood by science. So they use evidence that cannot truly determine if there is a God or not. Science bases its decisions in the physical realm and God clearly has to do with the spiritual realm. Which cannot be understood nor investigated by a person who trust in his five senses ONLY.

The first base into understanding God or the spiritual realm, call it a door, a entrance whatever you want is confessing Jesus Christ as your lord and believing in your heart that God his Father raised him from the dead. This allows God by your obedience to His word to place within your being what is called holy spirit. This holy spirit gives you eternal life and allows you to understand spiritual matters and the bible. Without holy spirit you can try and try and try and will never understand God or the bible. Its like a person never ever being born into the physical world trying to explain the physical. They have no chance because they are'nt even aware it exist until they are born. Its the same with the spiritual realm. Believe me it exist and so does God and unless you get born again of spirit you will never know or understand.

I find it very amazing that the simplicity of getting born again is so readily available to all but yet people will not take the time, meaning less than a minute to do what it takes to actually get born again.

If I told you that I had a million dollars and all you had to do was to call me and I would give it to you, I would get the same reactions, some would venture and see if it was true and recieve and then the very sceptacle ones would not.

There will always be unbelievers in God, He knows this, thats why we are to give them at least a chance to change and get eternal life, so in the end they have no excuse except that they did not want to believe.

Pletho, do you understand the difference between "a god" and "the Christian God"? Most agnostics/atheists on this board do not "say there is no God", in fact that are very happy to admit they DO NOT KNOW if there is a god or not.

As for the "Christian God", they are more than willing to say they believe there is no Christian God. Why? Because the Christian God *can* be "analized (analyzed) or understood by science". This is because the Christian God (through the Bible) makes claims that can be analyzed and either supported or refuted by science. If science shows that there is strong evidence to suggest that something written in the Bible is wrong, it greatly reduces the *probability* that the Christian God exists, or at least the probability that he is who he says he is.

What your problem is is that you are unwilling to see things from the other side of the fence, or said another way, you refuse to make any attempt to truly understand those you are preaching to. You are so set in your own ways and stereotypes, locked into your own thinking and mindset, that you happily admit that you are both 110% sure that Christianity is true (and that *you* and only a few have the correct interpretation), and that *nothing* could ever change your mind. This is the kind of thinking that posters despise (both atheist, agnostic, and theist alike). Its not the fact that you are a believer that angers people, but its your arrogance, your belittling, your stubbornness, your inability to treat people respectfully, your ignorance of basic scientific principles and your twisting of them, and finally your unwillingness to give credit to a well written argument from the other side. This has NOTHING to do with your religious beliefs and EVERYTHING to do with who you are as a person. I have no qualms with many atheists and theists on this board, but I have my qualms with PEOPLE who act like ignorant 10 year olds, and there are both atheists and theists who fall into this category. Unfortunately, you are one of those theists.

In a previous thread you said you would be happy if you helped just a single person. Have you ever considered that you are in fact HINDERING people both in weakening their faith and causing seekers to turn away from God? think about that for a second. rant over.

The most succinct answer I could give would be to just said "what dknightx" said. Based on comments I've seen about your posts in various threads, I'd said he accurately captured the general sentiment towards your postings. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that it will all 'go in one ear and out the other' with you. And because of that you will never "help just one person" since no one will take you serious or give you any more consideration responding for general amusement.

Anyhoo... some specifics-

Most atheists do not say this. Do you understand why it is easy to dismiss your postings since you like to start on the wrong foot. If you at all paid attention to most atheists you would realize most don't say there is no God. So already you look clueless.

Actually - the rest of your response was non scientific irrational stuff that could just as easily be talking about ghosts or unicorns as your god. It is only compelling to other people who believe in such ghosts.

By the way, its very easy to become 'born again' in many religions. I'm surprised you haven't done it. You could have Zeus' blessing now if you only asked him into your heart. It amazes me that you don't do something that is so easy.

And you would be right.

Regarding the christian religion:

If God sacrificed his only son for our sins what sort of father is he? Can we expect to be treated better? I can just picture the conversation god had with Jesus. God to Jesus "Hey son I got some bad news for you. The people I created didn't turn out to be as perfect as I hoped so I'm going to send you down and let them torture and crucify you so I can put a guilt trip on them for centuries to come." Jesus to god "Why can't you just punish them and put the fear of god into them?". God to Jesus "How would we make them feel guilty then?". Jesus to god "**** you dad".

It's very strange when you encounter people who are basically levels but are actually real. Like hyper reality or something.

However, a lot of contradictions remain.
Fix the last paragraph; everything else was correct.

Bart Ehrmann is quite educated in the texts of the Bible, including examining the original documents in multiple languages. He has written a number of books discussing the contradictions and problems with the text. Considering his credentials, I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is no doubt that he knows the Bible better then you. And he says you're wrong.

End of thread.

In conclusion:

- Modern Bibles contain lots of content that under common interpretation would be contradicting with other content
- Some people decided to interpret them in a way so they didn't contradict
- Modern bibles are subject to interpretation

This doesn't change the argument that the Bible is an unreliable source of information. Just because it *could've* originally been the accurate doesn't mean we can assume the new versions can be considered a reliable source of information.

Assuming translation errors can be accounted for, this still does not account for contradicting accounts of events that occurred. The walking stick contradiction (Mark 6:8-9 vs Luke 9:3 & Matt. 10:9-10) is about as simple as it gets.

This has very little relevence to the moral teachings in the modern Bibles, but it means we cannot treat these versions like they are historically accurate.

I have no problems with treating the Bible as a guide, but it cannot be treated as an accurate document.

End of thread.
The missing key is that he does not know how to rightly divide the bible and apparently has more interest in studying the bible for research than studying the bible to believe it.......

Also you have no clue of my knowledge of the word not that that matters to me much, its really about understanding what you read.

Some study to understand, some study to prove something wrong, some study to study, there is a difference in motivations and thus there will be a difference in undestandings...

Pletho says he doesn't know how to rightly divide the word based on pulling it out of his bum... so it must be true! You can mention motivations and such but since you're talking about someone you don't know... you're just proving that you just make up your own reality. Since his motivation is wrong so are his results... but of course you don't know his motivation.

By the way, if you knew about Mr. Ehrmann you would know that he studied the Bible originally as a believer with the motivation of enhancing his faith. Of course you wouldn't know that since you are comfortable making up your own facts about people you don't know about... but this nicely demonstrates how silly you look. Its no wonder people can't figure out if you're real or a joke.

I used to always wonder if crazy people knew they were crazy. (or replace crazy with other adjectives...) You certainly appear to be full of poop, so to speak... you make up stuff and just assume you're right. Assuming you aren't a joke, you clearly have no perception of your flaws, your removal from reality or how you come across to others.

I know for a fact he does not know how to rightly divide the word, thats why I stated it. How do I know that? Because some of the things he believes are not accurate with the rightly divided word.

He does understand a few great things thats for sure, but that still does not mean he understands the word of God as it should be understood, if he did then his doctrine would have no flaws, which it does.

I am still amazed that people who do not know sh-t about the bible, especially atheist, that try and make a judgement as to my understanding of the word, you guys are the nuts not me.

I would compare your inserts and opinions about my understanding and knowledge of the bible to a blind man describing what a painting looks like.

who cares. You just blather the same thing over and over.... you're right because you say your right, regardless what other experts and knowledgeable people bring to the table. You have the most unreliable method of finding truth known... you decide what you believe and assume since you believe it, it is true. Any contrary information is immediately disregarded since you are the final arbiter of truth.

It really makes you not only one of the more arrogant people around, but also you come across as fool. And arrogance coupled with foolishness is just comical.

By the way, Your ability to convey any expertise or even sanity is horrific. If you did know the truth, and there is God, then he cursed you with horrible communication and people skills.

Since your method of determining truth relies entirely on your opinion, you really are a huge waste of time. Since all evidence counter to what you believe is arbitrarily deemed wrong, there's little point in engaging you, is there?

The only thing I'm grateful for is that you if there were people on the fence, you're likely to push people away from believing in invisible gods. For that, I thank you.

Communicate? It that what you want?

I thought that all of you just wanted to one up one another?

None of you are really interested in learning a thing, you dont know anything and no one else can possibly know anything because your so smart, or you would have figured it out already. Thats the attitude I see on here constantly and consitantly.

None of you can convince anyone in there right mind that you are seriously seeking truth and want to learn, you just enjoy basking in your lack of knowledge and bashing the word of God and Christians because you do not understand anything about Him or His word.

I am the one who sees through all the B.S. on this forum and occasionally play around with some of you all just to lighten things up and to have some fun, or else I would constantly be calling out all of your errors.

I do howeever have some respect for those on here who have earned it. You definately do not get much respect from me when all you do is make stupid comments about something you have no clue about.

its not surprising to learn that you thought wrong.

Once again, your entire post amounted to "you're all right and I'm wrong because I say so." Continuing to prove that you have added nothing to your message since you first arrived. You see through the BS. You are the only one who knows God's word. Blah blah blah. No one else gets it but you.

yes... your logic is sound as usual. So according to Pletho logic... if a teacher asks a student, "What is 2+2?" They don't know the answer. Or if someone asks someone a question to initiate a discussion, it means they don't have the answers. The ONLY way a person can ask a question is if they don't know the answer.

You can't be this clueless. Can you? (In this case I really don't know the answer. I like to assume you can't be but evidence seems to indicate otherwise.)

Oh so you admit that you ask questions but only because you think you know the answers? In other words just to try and trap someone and waste peoples effort and time? Figures, its not like that isn't obvious.

You all are so ridiculous sometimes, ask a question that you pretend you want a answer to, all the while you already in your mind THINK you have the answer, which you really don't.

Again who do you all think you are fooling? Each other maybe? Definately not me..........

I think that most of the atheist and normal contributors to this forum are young guys who have been jaded by their past religous upbringing. In other words your families forced their hypocritical religous doctrines on you and after a while you saw through them. But because they taught you error, you still think that error is the truth about what true Christianity is about, so you attack anything related to God or the bible because you have a grudge in you mind.

Its so lodged in there that you can't see the tree because of the forest.

In other words, you can't see the truth because of the error you have been taught that blocks you from considering anything related to the bible as credible.......

You mean like asking someone if they have accepted Jesus as their lord and savior. The traps go both ways.
