God chose me first and I chose him back. Relationships are never a one way street no matter how many free will threads they run on here. Some things are just destiny.
OK? I don't see how that's relevant.

So you did inherit your religion from your parents.

Well you know that stupid little worldly saying "You can't choose your family but you can choose your friends" is a half truth.

Most of the old cliches only contain partial truths that's why I read the bible for the whole truth. I don't just go off of doctrines repeated repetitiously. The only thing that cracks doctrine imo is regular bible study.

Again, you're bringring up something that's not relevant.

If you were going to dance around the question like this I don't know why you bothered to reply in the thread.

If reading the Bible led to anything, I'd be a believer right now.

I've answered it in the past. Sorry I can't rehash again. Particularly not with the blog police on here.

Perennial philosophy is the philosophical concept, which states that each of the world’s religious traditions share a single truth. Perennial philosophy asserts that there is a single divine foundation of all religious knowledge, referred to as the universal truth. Each world religion, independent of its cultural or historical context, is simply a different interpretation of this knowledge. World religions including, but not limited to, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shinto, Sikhism and Buddhism, are all derived from the same universal truth. Although the sacred scriptures of these world religions are undeniably diverse and often oppose each other, each world religion has been formed to fit the social, mental and spiritual needs of their respective epoch and culture. Therefore, perennial philosophy maintains that each world religion has flourished from the foundation of the same universal truth, making these differences superficial and able to be cast aside to find religion’s deeper spiritual meaning.
Nope.

I did not that the writer said that there is a universal truth that he did not name and followed it with "undeniably diverse and often oppose each other"

Nothing like consistency.

We are all the same. Except for you and I. Sort of.
Is what he is saying.
Makes a lot of sense.

Or does it?

To be Christian is to have to learn real quickly the art of dancing around and bobbing and weaving away from any direct answer to any question.

Not surprising as their theology does not hold water.

See how a pro does it.

Here is a woman who has discarded reason and logic, for faith, a belief in nothing, and you are preaching to me about logic.

Seriously?

What is your logic for believing in fantasy, miracles and magic?

What percentage of Iranians are not Muslim? Clearly it seems like quite a coincidence that they all "choose" Islam as their faith. It is obvious that MOST are programmed as children and there is really no reason to convert as by the time they are old enough to think for themselves, they are positive they "chose" the right religion.

Yes there are some who really do critically explore different faiths and choose to convert to one other than what they were raised in... but those are a tiny tiny percentage.
