An extract from the film 'Zeitgiest', which I recommend everyone watches.

My view on religion is that it is a form of mind control; a way to manipulate populations into blindly conforming to the agenda of men who are in power... all in the name of the invisible man.

In my opinion the only thing that makes religion, religion, is the irrational worship of beings, who always somehow end up having a connection to the invisible man, and who also are probably bankrolled well enough to take on [insert pro here]. If it wasn't for the worshipping of Haile Selassie, I, a 19 year old British white boy, would be a part the the rastafari movement, no joke. So, for those who argue that religion teaches morals and all that crap, you don't need religion to learn that war is bad, and for that matter, you don't need it to learn hemp is good.

I suck at writing, so be easy.

PEACE LOVE & HARMONY MY BROTHERS & SISTERS!

The only things worse than people who believe things blindly are people who watch movies like zeitgeist, which cites no sources and is pretty shoddy, as ways arguing that you shouldn't believe things blindly.

The movie zeitgeist is a prime example OF religion.

Shoddy sources, good imagination and people gobbling it up without question.

Zeitgeist is an excellently-crafted piece of propaganda that falls apart like tissue paper when its claims are examined.

Good points. I did snap up everything Zeitgeist said, blindly at first. I have to admit I haven't studied any of it's claims as far as religion go. I think having a clear mind, and studying the undisputed facts is always the best way to go.

The fact they don't cite any of their information is pretty lame.

Lol, I watched Zeitgeist with my roommate in UNI and after it had finished he said something along the lines of,

"and you make fun of me for watching star trek which is at least equally as plausible"

I was binned at this point and my ribs hurt for days from the laughter which ensued.

Religion section is awesome because like 10 mins of it is just a George Carlin sketch, which can't be bad. Also the reasoning is foolproof:

Jesus = Son of God
Jesus = Sun of God
Jesus = Sun

Amazingly, there's an original series Star Trek episode that ends with this exact play on words.

ya, its pretty bad. especially when you take careful note that english wasn't around to make this pleasant homonym into an argument. still an entertaining movie for a little while.
