I came across this interesting series of blog posts. I skimmed over it, and I think it's good enough to pass along:

Internet Monk Blog

Based on how it reads, I think it's strictly a commentary about American Evangelicalism. I don't necessarily agree or disagree with it, so don't take it to be my position on anything.

If it spurs some interesting conversation, that's fine. If not, that's also fine.

There most likely will be sweeping changes in religion around the world the exact form it will take is hard to say. Change most likely won't be limited to evangelicals though. There is a world religions united for peace movement afoot right now and its intent is to overcome not denominational but religious differences and strive for world peace uniting Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Christians, etc.

I'm not sure if too much attention is being given to the culture war. I think what happened is society in general was sabotaged from within before they realized what was going on. Now there's almost too many fronts to fight. At some point we may have to hunker down and conserve our personal resources and take care of those closest to us. A little like these guys: see Kirishtan Holocaust on wikipedia...(it won't link).

In the eternal "truth" war over which dogma is right I think people lose sight of the historical progression of religion. All these sects may be due to a regeneration of the word and/or a part of God's plan to manage his extension of faith across time. Religion has this age progression aspect that is hard to narrow down precisely. Lately whenever I learn anything about a great Christian religious figure or a certain denomination it almost seems like they got "most but not all" of it right. There seems to always be a little tightrope we walk in the world. Sometimes we need to go right/conservative more or left/liberal to be able to adjust for various situations. Sometimes it seems like God is adjusting dogma to accomodate changing times, generations and circumstances. Jesus did say to Thomas that people that can obtain faith really far down the road will really be blessed and that's a very hopeful thought to hang on to. David Jeremiah once said on a tv show that in the End Times (based on scripture) that the saints will be worn out so I try to keep that in mind so I plan better for the future to be able to retain my mental, physical and spiritual resources.

Ha God must be a winning poker player. He makes his adjustments over time for differing situational conditions and players as the game of life progresses.

I guess it could be read that way too. The important question though is "What is he like now?"

We haven't seen him at the table for almost 2000 years. Did he go busto?

That's because you're blinded by your unbelief.

All Israel Will Be Saved
25I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
"The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27And this is[f] my covenant with them
when I take away their sins."[g]

Too bad he couldn't own Satan in the hell or original sin things. I guess God just runs bad and wins all the small pots.

God bounced Satan out of Heaven when he rebelled. Seems like a decisive victory to me. Besides, Christ's death and Resurrection is our ultimate victory. Ship teh eternal salvation for us believers.

Hey what do you want from a student of the greatest teacher that ever lived. Jesus always used metaphors, symbols, analogies and parables from his culture.

Oh vey. They're not chopped liver ya know.
