I seem to have lost the plot. This started off with the claim "You realize by saying Christ you believe he not only existed, but is the Messiah right?" When confronted with an argument as to why your position was false, you disagreed because it was like using AD. And you think using AD is offensive and presumptuous.

Am I supposed to conclude that saying "Christ" means you believe he is the Messiah because it's somehow offensive and presumptuous?

His name wasn't Christ. It was Jesus

If we're going to be silly then Jesus wasn't his name and he wasn't termed Christ. Those are just transliterations. So using a false name is really just an affirmation that you don't believe in him.

I'm pretty sure the Greek word Christos preceded Christianity.

Edit: Your argument seems to suggest that you shouldn't have an issue with "Jesus Christ" but that you should really have an issue with "Jesus Messiah."
