God created it all.

Now please keep your promise and stop posting. If you continue posting I will assume you found my answer illogical.

Do you really think Pletho keeps the forum interesting? I personally don't understand how posters continue to state things over and over to him and he continues to stick his fingers in his ears and scream that he can't hear them. His agenda is entire based around coming here and spamming his version of the "TRUTH". He has no intentions of learning anything and its really mindblowing to see him still receiving the attention he gets.

Pletho, why dont you get a blog and move on from 2p2?

that would be too logical.

same request has been made many times to similar posters like Splendour. They don't care to blog, since they know no one will read it. It appears they find some meaning, or perhaps pleasure, in people reading what they write no matter how ridiculous it is.

Part of the fun in this forum is the constant interplay between theists and atheists. If Splendour, Prax, Pletho left I think we'd find this forum much more lightely travelled. They are the center of a ton of threads.

They might keep it lively, but RLK and Jib (when he keeps his cool) are by far the most interesting theists IMO.

This line of questioning isn't really valid because it is a logical fallacy - a false dilemma fallacy.

Interesting? I guess if you think a reed shaken in the wind is interesting then maybe?

See Eternal Inflation or Black Hole Bouncing for a few ideas.

You also might want to develop a notion of the grammar of time as your questions are ill-posed.

There are a lot of interesting open questions in cosmology so I wouldn't expect anyone to explain to you the exact details.

Lol gtfo with this big bang nonsense,

Pletho demands a logical explanation that lives up to the highest of standards, you know, something that could rival a big invisible man in the sky creating the universe in 7 days.

Obviously failing to provide a solid explanation for the creation of everything the only logical conclusion would be that god did it!

It doesn't matter if scientists can't explain everything or not, the logical conclusion is that we don't know a great deal about the universe, NOT that the universe was created by gods.

Jesus christ, people.

The big bang is an observable fact of the universe afaik. Unfortunately it does not require your belief to have happened.

The universe began to exist upon the first arrival of Lavos. Lavos is a giant creature capable of traveling back in time, and he created the universe in order to feed off of the energy it provides. He remains dormant at the earth's core, and his awakening will mark the beginning of the end. Lavos initially traveled back in time from the year 2300 AD to the year 12,000 BC, at which point he created the universe so that it would be ready for consumption in 13,999 years, the year 1999 being the prime year for consumption. However, Lavos' plans were disrupted by a group of time traveling heroes, led by the legendary Crono, with the aid of an old sage at the End of Time by the name of Gaspar, who resides in the year infinity.

In the year 1000 AD, Crono and his friend Marle are witnessing their friend Lucca and her father demonstrate their newly developed teleporting device when Marle's sacred pendant interferes with the device, tearing open a time rift that transports Marle back in time 400 years. Without going into much detail, essentially what happened was Crono and Lucca follow Marle through time in an attempt to save her. While in the year 600 AD, Lucca is mistaken by the people of that time for her lost ancestor, altering the course of history and creating a grandfather paradox. Upon their journey, Crono and Lucca meet many adventurers who join their quest. Because of the missing ancestor debacle, Crono and Lucca are forced to flee to the year 2300 AD, where they find the shattered remains of the universe and learn of the destruction caused by Lavos in the year 1999. It is here that Crono and his friends decide to change the course of history yet again, this time by going back to the past. It is also in this time period where Crono's party meets the old sage Gasper. Gasper teaches them how to perform some specific miracles, known as magic, as well as teaching them more about time travel.

Crono and his fellow heroes travel back in time to the year 600 AD where they challenge Magus, who is supposed by some to be the source of Lavos. However, upon defeating Magus, another tear in the fabric of time occurs, and the party is sent back to the year 12,000 BC. It is here that they learn the truth about Lavos; that Magus was, in fact, not the source of Lavos but that Lavos is his own entity whose origin is not dependant upon this universe. They then travel again to the year 2300 AD in order to gain access to the Wings of Time (also known as Epoch), allowing them access to any point in time without the need of a time portal. They then travel back to 12,000 BC to the Kingdom of Zeal, whose inhabitants are creating a machine known as The Mammoth's Machine. The Mammoth Machine is designed to harvest the power of Lavos which would allow the inhabitants of Zeal to become immortal. The Mammoth Machine was then activated at Ocean Palace. Lavos, awakened by the disturbance caused by the Mammoth Machine, is challenged by a prophet who reveals himself to be Magus. Crono also stands up to Lavos, but is no match. Lavos vaporizes Crono and destroys the Kingdom of Zeal in retaliation as a result of his anger.

Cronus' friends awaken in a village, and find Magus who reveals himself to be Prince Janus of Zeal. They then learn that the disaster at Ocean Palace has scattered the Gurus of Zeal throughout time, resulting in Magus being sent to the middle ages. It turned out that Janus' true intention was to masque himself as Magus in order gain a following to destroy Lavos in retaliation for the death of Janus' sister, Schala, whom Lavos had slain. Ocean Palace then turned into a massive floating monstrosity known as The Black Omen. Crono's friends turn to Gaspar for guidance. Gasper then reveals to them a Chrono Trigger: a clone of Crono. The party travels back in time again, replacing the Chrono Trigger with Crono so that Crono may avoid being vaporized. Crono and his group then travel throughout time, with the constant guidance of Gaspar, in order to gain knowledge and power in the hopes of becoming powerful enough to quell the forces of Lavos.

There are many interpretations of what exactly happened along the journey of our time traveling heroes, but the most important detail is the fact that they succeeded in quelling the forces of Lavos through their sinless actions and self sacrifices. This is clearly what happened, for if it had not, we would not be here today to discuss it. The events of the heroes are very well documented in an ancient text known as Chrono Trigger, initially written in the language of Binary and interpreted by the very wise prophet most commonly known as Super Nintendo. Many different translations have been made throughout history, and word of Chrono Trigger has reached many different nations. The sheer number of people who have been exposed to and are now knowledgeable of Chrono Trigger is testament to the fact that it is true. In addition, Chrono Trigger was the third best selling game of 1995, which is even further testament that it is true. Chrono Trigger is considered a historical document by experts because many of the names of places, events, and people depicted in it existed, while others which may not have existed are intended as metaphor. The teachings of Chrono Trigger are that of an exceptionally righteous nature, and are an excellent guide as to how we ought to live our own lives. It is also clear that the seemingly violent nature of Lavos was necessary and served to teach us the lessons contained within Chrono Trigger. It is important to note that because of the sacrifices that Crono and his party undertook themselves, we no longer need the old, harsh law imposed by Lavos but are now under a new covenant of peace. We now understand that this was necessary for our own salvation, for if it had not happened, Lavos would have had to consume all the energy in the universe and we would all be doomed. We should all be thankful for the mercy Lavos has bestowed upon us and the gift of existence with which he has blessed us!

What you seem to be saying is that since certain things are unexplainable it proves that there is a god. Since humans lack the ability to fully conceptualize existance you feel inclined to obey what man has made up absent the truth.

I have a "simpler" challenge (to humanity).... It may not be technologically possible to do even half of it at this moment in time, but I'm willing to bet the entire wealth of my future lineage that it cannot ever be done - yes, a 0% chance.

Take the smallest bacterium in a controlled environment and break it down to its constituent atomic components of however many millions of atoms. Now put them back together. You will not have a cell that is living again.

This belongs in SMP, but this may become possible using nano-technology, but I really don't know enough. I would think that would be a good place to start looking though.
