I've come to believe in our all knowing loving god after years of rejecting him using logic. Satan is all around us and we must all pray to overcome him. In my short time of being a believer I'm very excited about having a relationship with him and what path he puts me on. The peace and serenity he has given me has been a blessing.

To fellow Christians, how has your relationship grown with god? Is there anything more I should be doing besides reading the bible, praying, going to church and putting him at the forefront of my thoughts all the time? If anyone has advice for a new believer, please share.

Don't post in this forum if you are new to the bible. There are tons of unbelievers here. This is not a friendly place. They are only looking to poke fun, kill some time and try and debate you. I may have found 2 people in the time I have been posting here that actually were looking for truth and were willing to listen. Most if not all others are just here to spew out trash and make fun of God and the bible and Christians.

Just my friendly advice....

Congratulations, nohands.

I would advise you to find a place where the Bible is being taught and where you can fellowship with other believers, if there's a church nearby where this is happening that's great. As a new Christian a lot of things can get thrown your way, so fellowship and being around other believers that you can learn from is incredibly helpful.

I'm always looking for truth, and I always willing to listen, the problem with what you are saying is that truth does not require belief, it is fundamentaly based on facts, and facts do not require any belief at. They just are....
I'm willing to listen to any argument, but don't try and claim something is the truth if there are no facts with which to verify said truth...

Truth and Facts are not the same - One is based on eternal realities and the other is based on physical evidence that are ever changing, therefore never reliable.

The Words in the Word of God, when rightly divided are the truth.

Truth is spiritual, facts are physical. Physical facts are based on spiritual truths and principles.

The physical realm cannot and would not exist without the spiritual realm which cannot be seen by the naked eye. In order to receive anything or understand anything from God's word you have to believe first, and then see. You can't say you believe and try to fake it, God is not dumb. Believing is not biased, it works for everyone. It's a law. The law of believing is what determines where you go in life. Your successes and failures.

So, don't say you are willing to listen to facts, but yet when the word of God (which is written with ink on physical paper) is shared with you, (which is actually factually true, and exists and at the same time it's spiritually true) you still deny it....

You should listen to the words of Jesus - be charitable to your fellow man and spread the word, not disparagement. If non-believers mock your beliefs, what do you care? Are they so fragile they can't stand mockery? Faith strengthens through trial - Jesus himself was tempted by the devil - and you're afraid/advising others to avoid an Internet forum?

Also, atheists have done more to positively reform theology than theists have. Modern theology, and the view of Christ you believe in - is mostly due to atheist critiques of Christianity.

Christianity has been strengthened greatly through mockery.

Sorry, I have had many a meaningful.discussion on.spirituality, but you sir have well and truly mugged yourself off here, what a load of Bo**ox.....Let's disect:

Eternal realities don't change yet the laws of physics do? I'm going out on a limb here but you might have that backwards.....the laws of physics fundamentaly hold true at all points within the universe our world is completely based in them....to deny these are true is to deny that 1+1=2.... If you don't accept the basic realises of life there is no hope for you....

The words of God.....written in the Bible are all factually accurate....come on....even the Pope doesn't believe that anymore....news flash. The world was not created in 7days....Adam and Eve are not the inception if all human life....Unless of course they carried every hereditary, or genetic disorder known, they were also simultaneously black, white, Chinese, Hispanic, and any other race you can think of.....

Physical facts are mot based on spiritual truths, they are based on maths and experimental verification....not.sure I need to say any more here....

Belief in itself implies doubt....if you believe something to be true you imply the doubt that it may not be, you don't need to believe in facts, they are facts there is no doubt.....based on your statement for me to experience God I have to believe in him, and as such have to doubt his existence, but would then not be able to experience him/her.....

I always listen to the facts....
But I'm at an impasse because you suggest everythung written down in ink must be the truth and I just read hurry Potter and I am worried that my son might be a real life wizard.....

Please I expected from this forum an intellectual discussion about theology, spirituality, I am interested in the concepts behind the facts, why are the laws of thermodynamics such that allows life to exist...why do all possibilities exist before they are observed by a conscious being. Are the laws of physics such because we choose them to be, we're they tweaked by creator, or are they just....

Real philosophical questions, not some crank spouting nonsense with no concept of the real world....

Feel free to retort, just make it meaningful this time.

Maybe before you do you can decide if I 'believe' in God or not....

Pletho probably goes more with this.

Probably not terrible advice but real truth seekers do make their way here but the **** that gets typed up ain't what the masses want to hear bc it's not all pretty and it doesn't all feel good.

Yes, there's an all loving God around us that accepts everything.

Yes, there's a Satan around us that's constantly attempting to seduce us into material reality. Why do we need to pray to overcome him?

We live and exist in material reality and came into existence to experience material reality. When we actually accept our place in life we come to find that there's never been anything to overcome, only life to accept and let go of as it's all conditional.

Once you recognize you exist as an eternal awareness then there's nothing left to overcome bc you're all that exists and you can't overcome yourself, you can only experience yourself.

The Bible is full of truth as well as misdirection. It gives you a path to Salvation only if you are willing to let go of the fact that there's not any 1 path to Salvation, there's only Salvation...every path leads there. Get as lost or as found as you want.
