But what will happen? But what will happen?

Ok so I'm not religious anymore But was curious to know the Christians views on this.

What will happen to everybody in hell(including Satan)? Will God just let them sit there forever in the "lake of fire"? Or will they eventually be put out of their misery? Also if the answer is any of the above don't you think that's pretty unfair given the avg human lives 70 years? Also if God is a forgiving one why can't he forgive people in he'll?

You should ask that only Christians who believe in the concept of everlasting tormenting hell post or its going to get messy.

It'll be messy even with just Christians.

I should have specified, Christian only answers at first. Then I don't care who posts, it would be a interesting discussion to watch.

No my point is not all Christians believe in the concept of hell so unless you ask just the ones who do all you will get is a debate on weather hell is real or not.

Hmm interesting I was under the impression that basic Christianity has a hell in it, I've never met one that hasn't believed in hell and I've been surrounded by Christians since I was 19.

Some Christians believe in annihilation and some believe in universalism.

Im rooting for the underdog, go universalism.

I know Jews don't believe in Hell and Muslims believe you go to hell for a certain amount of time but you do make it to heaven after a certain period of time. It all depends on how bad you lived your life.

Every Christian I have ever known believes in eternal damnation.

And some Christians believe that hell is a garbage dump outside Jerusalem.

Hell is only as horrible as its inhabitants make it to be. I don't torment those souls. Those that are sent there torment each other.

Gehenna is(was) a garbage dumb outside of Jerusalem. Do do realize this is a historical fact, right?

In the SEP article that Original Position linked in the other thread, the author pointed out what I feel is a pretty devastating issue. It was a good read if you are interested. I feel that annihilationism is really the most logical and biblically supported.

There is more then one view. Some Jews viewed gehenna as a purgatory like place where souls go to get fired in preparation for heaven.

I think all three views are in the bible. Which one is most supported? meh.. my opinion don't matter.

I would say universalism the most loving and just though. The only way it wouldn't be is if like you have said a soul gets to the point where it could not chose to be with God. But then the question is why cant God make a place for those souls.
