lagtight, if you interpreted the bible as indicating heterosexuality was wrong and sodomy with other men was the only path then would you change your lifestyle?

I've been celibate my whole life, so the answer is no.

I'll answer a slightly different question, since the Bible does not condemn celibacy.

Modified Question: If your interpretation of the Bible was that it condemned celibacy, what now?

My Answer: I would endeavour to not be celibate.

edit: No more counterfactuals please.

see you're avoiding answering specifically because you don't want to address the holes in your logic

I modified your second question so it would match the structure of your first question.

What "hole" is in my logic?

I'll try to answer any honest question that doesn't involve a counterfactual conditional.

Your second question, as originally posed, was unanswerable because it assumed something that wasn't true (i.e. the Bible condemns celibacy), and that literally nobody believes is true.

i asked if you'd go gay for jesus and instead you said you already are cucking for jesus

you knew what i was asking and dodged it, i then clarified and you dodged again

the problem is you're playing choose your own adventure with the bible and then attributing the cherry picked parts you agree with as meaningful and to be followed

i bet you also imagine jesus as a swedish hair metal guy as well instead of some schwarmy guy who once gave you an uber ride

my point is it's all so arbitrary, if you grew up under different circumstances or locales then you'd have a drastically different religious ideology, you didn't choose chritianity, you were born into it and thus people in these situations do what comes natural, to find a version of it that fits their preference, hence why you have hundreds of offshoots of just christianity, nevermind all the over religions

so coming here pretending to have a pseudo intellectual debate over something that nothing more than a personal opinion that you are (consciously or not) too afraid to own up as anything other than a ruling from up on high out of your control is cowardly, disingenuous and pathetic

you choose to view gay people as icky - that's the bottom line. just own it and quit this absurd pretense. you're here on a poker forum ffs arguing about it, freud would have a field day with you

I "dodged" a question that didn't make any sense, because it entailed a false presupposition. I answered a modified version that matched reality.

I agree with the entire Bible.

Neither of my parents were Christians. I didn't become a Christian until I was 30. At the time, I was a part-time Philosophy instructor. Most of that time period, I was in a non-Christian environment almost 24/7 until I was born again.

Thank you for sharing your opinion of me. You'll be delighted to know, that I don't care what your opinion of me is, any more than I suspect you care what my opinion of you is.

I don't view gay people as "icky." The Bible says that homosexuality is a sin. I always agree with what the Bible says. I also agree with the Bible when it says that "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." That includes me, and that includes you. We are all sinners, but we don't all sin in the same way. But Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross paid the penalty for my sins, for your sins, and for the sins of all homosexuals, and for all the sins of straight people, and all the sins of everybody. You can have eternal life right now by trusting in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation.

Is ethnic stereotyping of Uber drivers allowed in these here parts?

1. Actually, this is a religion forum. This forum is known affectionately as RGT. We leave the discovery of the meaning of the letters RGT as an exercise for the reader.

2. Freud is probably in Hell right now, so I don't really care at this point with what would have amused him.

Be wary of rickroll. He likes "holes". He seems obsessed with accusing others of being gay or pedophiles.

Hmm.
