To have experienced consciousness even for the briefest moment in the history of the universe is a privilege.
I dont disagree.

When you get right down to it, what's the difference between living for 30 years, 50 years, 100 years, or 5,000,000 years. It's still just a blink of an eye in the scheme of things.?
Its not a blink of an eye form a personal perspective. Living form 30 to 50 takes 20 years which takes longer then a blink for me.

And yes, I do consider the condition of humankind tragic.
Thats all im saying. Its tragic, or a little bit depressing we die when we dont want to.

But so what? There's nothing we can do about it and musing fantasies about living forever are of no help.

I agree with, it is what it is and ill take what i get. It just sucks a little and if i could change it for myself i would.

Also, I can see why believing in God can lead to a better moral life.
1. You can believe in a afterlife or even a God without religion. Religion is for sheep who never stop to think for themselves, instead believing everything other humans brainwashed them with from birth. Or for weak people who are afraid to believe different as whatever group they associate themselves with.

2. A better moral life with religion? WHAT? Last I checked religious people are not very compassionate towards people with other religions or believes. How is that moral? Atheists or people without religion are often much more compassionate towards other humans, they see every human equally.

With some exceptions because of different conceptions of god, believing in god makes it impossible to be moral.

Hmm, you have given me a thought here:- it is possible, with our limited understanding, to think that perhaps God is a bit on the stupid side: a mouth breathing, window licking kind of guy (would explain a lot) but then I believe God is monotheist and therefore has no peers to be compared with; so I guess this thought is rendered irrelevant. Thank you anyway.

lol I gotta say the bold is pretty funny... Science did it(additionally to the healing power of our bodies), but it's all God's miracle...

Now how reliable is the information in the first 2 sentences? Do we have police and paramedic reports we can look at?

btw. I always wonder... where was GOD when this was happening?

Ohhh, now I know.. he was saving life of one individual in America so he had no time for millions of lives of innocent starving children. THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!
waiting for theists to respond to this post

Again, all this would be resolved if it just had more satire.

The problem with FSM now is that it is too close to the real deal to count as proper satire, thus it becomes an insult. Good satire stings too much to be ignored, but must be too silly to cause rage. The point is to raise legitimate criticism without provoking unjustified reactions.

Proper satire is very delicate...to the extent that cultural shifts might even make most people oblivious to it even being satire (for example "Gulliver's travels").

I like Russel's teapot more, because it has an added level of absurdity.

I think the whole reason why people (who aren't raised with religion), are interessted in a religion is because they miss something in their life.
People fear what they don't understand (death), and desperation results in denial. Which eventually results in believing things like afterlife. They believe this, because this is what they want to hear. Therefore they turn to a religion, because they're afraid of death.

Imo these are the two main reasons why people are religious. I'm not talking about people who are raised with a religion, since it's obvious that they didn't stand a change from the start.

My point of view is this: You only live once, try not to have regrets.
