If you someday want to have a discussion where I need to " supply arguments that show that and how Fox's general sentiments/tictacs/arguments are applicable to Christianity at large", that could be kind of fun but it's not necessary here.
This is where you start from:

- Fox is a news organization
- Fox drives a hardcore conservative agenda
- Fox drives a hardcore christian agenda
- Fox is a part of western christianity
- Fox employs a certain tactic

This is where you want to go:

- Western Christianity employs a certain tactic.

You don't get from start to finish until you show: "The tactic that Fox uses is representative of what Christianity does."

Incorrect. This is what happened:

- I have an impression of 'stop bullying me' being an increasingly common response to criticism by western Christians
- I needed an example of it happening and Fox News do it so I used them as an example. (Further, because of the huge influence of Fox news in the US, I can speculate that they might even be part of what is causing this behaviour to become more widespread.)

They're not 'representative' because I wouldn't say that this behaviour was typical, they're an example of when I've seen it occurring though so I'm not using Fox news as a 'Hitler' because they might similarly negative associations that I hope will add weight to my position, I'm simply using them as an example. For all I know you're a fan of Fox news, it doesn't matter to me because your impression of Fox news isn't important to my position. That's why it's not a Godwin.

Ok, then I guess I misunderstood your point based on this:

Once you postulate causal links, you need to show/argue for causality. If you just take it as an example (preferrably also makign clear that you realize to what degree that example is or isn't applicable to Christianity at large), it's fine.

In my reply just now I limited my response to the first part of my position, that of having used Fox as an example of when I've witnessed this behavior, and stayed away from when I went further to speculate that they might be part of the cause since I felt it didn't help me demonstrate that I wasn't pulling Fox out of the bag like a Hitler. Two separate points. Fox have done it, and, fox might be part of why other people are doing it.

I'm not using Fox as an 'ah ha!. I've seen them use this tactic, in particular I've seen Bill O'Reilly do it, but he's not alone.
