Hi I thought the races had started today. Where is the leaderboard?
01-26-2009 , 11:20 AM
I can´t acess their site so probably they are uploading it
01-26-2009 , 01:32 PM
humm... I can acess now... nothing new
01-26-2009 , 06:10 PM
when does it begin?
01-26-2009 , 06:25 PM
Its not gonna begin ... its all just a big hoax it seems

And if it does and only pays out to top 5 players as someone mentioned then i seriously doubt this will be a big success in the long run.
Maybe if the races where weekly so the prizes could be spread out a bit more.
But i could be wrong of course, and we could be looking at the new Stars

Top 5 *siiigh* !!! really hope that isnt true

Honestly, it worries me the fact that DSP said that the races would start today and they didn't. They could be more precisely regarding the day (even if it starts in march). DSP said also in the past that the races were going to start last weekend
After the races are on, it's understandable that it only pays top 5 in the beggining... maybe within 1 month it will pay top 10 or 20. That only depends on players volume and generated rake. I don't know how much profit % (total $$$ - players bonuses - affiliates - ipoker comission - salaries) they are willing to put in those races. From a marketing point of view they should put at least 75% to convince new players to join them.
Other thing that also concerns me it's that Peter didn't answer my PM sended 2 days ago. And giving away my details to a new poker room is also weird... PokerStars, FullTilt, Party and even other Ipoker skins never asked me that before. I understand it if you are using cards to deposit or withdraw, but with neteller or moneybookers it just doesn´t make any sense...

so im seeing a banner at the top of the client for the daily and i can click on it to see the current leaders etc. excellent.

Petter and Rakesh, what im curious about is how the bit in bold affects where one places cos from what i can see it just look like whoever gets the most points on a 24 hour period wins. maybe im reading too much into it or maybe a stage is a day...can you clarify the rules for the race. thankyou

Basically DSP uses a % of the player activity and adds it to a daily prize pool. The more people play, the bigger the prize pool each day. This will happen each and every day. How you win is based on the amount of Ipoints or Dirty Stack Points you get. The daily stack races is just like a normal FFPs race, except the time period is a single day, everyday. Your entry is automatic, and placing is calculated by the how quickly you reach each stage in the race, which is achieved by the number of Stack Points (FPPs) you generate that day.

i just played a relatively short session and maybe it is a coincidence but i experienced some pretty bad lag at the tables. like i sat there with the software seemingly paused and thinking i was disconnected when another guys time ran down to zero and i was next to act....and there was no action on any tables including 2 where i had to make a move but couldnt. anyway, after like a minute or so it unfroze and i wasnt disconnected on any tables and did not miss a hand. i asked in chat and the one player who replied said he had lag also.

I think this happened twice in < 1hr. I hope its not related to any extra processing of the DSP races and it probably isnt but thought i'd at least mention not to have a whine but to mention it in case others have seen the same sort of thing

note: this is different to the client timeouts ive mentioned in the other thread......previously i would be timed out and sat out but in this case it seemed to be pure software lag.

thanks

Hi Guys,

Apologies for not being around the last couple of days, Public Holidays with Chinese New Year, all the festivities etc.

The Daily Points race is up and live, the ladder is located at :
http://www.dirtystackpoker.com/PointRace.aspx

There is also an updating banner in the poker client which reflects the leaderboard on the front of the website - the banner links out to the leaderboard..
We haven't as of yet put up a link to the leader from the website itself, you can expect to see one in the next 24hrs.

We will be adding the following text to the ladder in the next 24hrs :

"
The Daily Stack Race starts midnight UTC (client time) and ends 24 hours later.
The minimum prize pool is $50. Winners are paid 1-4 days after the race has completed.

To calculate the daily prize pool, we use a % of the day’s activity. When the % of the day’s activity exceeds $50 (expect it to happens on a daily basis!), the prize pool exceeds $50.

The leaderboard below may not be correct or up to date.
Data can be corrupted during the import process of statistics used to calculate leaderboard standings and should only be used as a guide. Finalists of the Daily Stack Races will be notified by Dirty Stack Poker, and prizes will be paid to players cashier balance.
"

Will we be increasing the starting pool in the near future : yes.
Will we be increasing the placings as the pool grows : yes!

I am open to questions, comments and suggestions regarding the daily points race.

Regards
Rakesh

Hi Ozi,

The lag you and the player were experiencing could have been caused by the playtech network. If it had just been you, it may have been our server with playtech.

The stats required to pull in data for the daily stack race, won't have any impact on servers, as our reporting and gaming servers are seperate.

Cheers
Regards
Rakesh

Hi Ozi,

Apologies for the statement below. It is incorrect for the Daily Stack Race.

For the future, we are looking to implement a Stack Race which rewards players by racing other Dirty Stack Poker players. The race would have mini stages, as the winners of each stage progress further the field gets smaller until only one player remains. Winners of each stage would win the stage prize.

Regards
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh and Petter

im not sure if you want people to flood you with ideas for the points races but i have a suggestion to help those of us who play lower limits (eg below NL100).

Can you consider having a few different categories for the races so the high stakes players (who probably wont even notice any different in their bankrolls if they get an extra $5 to $25) dont automatically claim all these.

perhaps you could have a couple of diferent levels of the race to cater for the lower stake players or perhaps you could factor in number of hands played in your races so that those players who play alot of hands at a lower stake somehow get their score scaled to give them a chance

my 2c
