I doubt I will get any replies but there is no harm in asking
Basically i'm fulfilling my dream of playing in the WSOP next year after saving up bit by bit over the last 7 years since I started playing poker in order to afford it. Only thing is that i've been mainly a cash game player over the last few years and i'm a little rusty with playing MTTs and I want to have some practise/training/studying etc before I go.
I'm 25 years old, been playing poker just over 7 years. I started off just playing at my local pub leagues before moving to online (while also still playing at the pub as it's a social setting, good excuse to get out the house!) while playing in those leagues I did win a lot of trophies and had great results and this is probably sad but those trophies are my biggest achievements in life!
I've had a few decent cashes in casino tournaments as well, nothing too exciting - the biggest buy in i've played is £50. My biggest cash is around £500 or so (through a pub poker end of season final game) and around £400 from a casino tournament.
I'm not going to be able to sit at a laptop for hours on end playing endless amounts of MTTs, i'm too busy a person for that. I'd like to play a few online tournaments and 1-2 live tournaments a week, over a year that should be enough for me to be ready.
Basically i'm looking for someone who's maybe part of a MTT study group but also willing to take a chance on me and see what happens. I'm happy to do a month's trial at first where I pay for all my games with my own money first and get involved with talking strategy etc and after a month see if you'd be happy to invest some money in myself.
For references: i'd like to think i'm a respected member of 2+2 by now, i've made transactions with a few other members (mainly sports betting related) and also with other people from a poker FB group I am in where I set up a HU tournament every now and then with 16+ players and I hold all the money.
I also was staked by cbiscuits for cash games for a while last year before I unfortunately had to end it prematurely due to personal issues but I paid back everything I owed straight away and had no issues, i'm sure they will give me a good reference.
I mean i'll be honest, i'm not expecting anyone to take me on here but like I said there is no harm in asking. If you want to know more just shoot me a PM on here (or give me an email at
ryanshire94@hotmail.co.uk if you can't PM for whatever reason) or you can always just post in this thread.
Totally happy to do a month's trial at first so basically as a staker it's a win/win situation for you, give me a try for a month see if we get along etc and after a month you can make a decision
also it's not about the money for me, the most important thing is to get myself ready for Vegas next year. So I will more than likely accept a 60/40 deal rather than the usual 50/50.
Thanks for reading!
