Hi everyone,

I'm not new to standard staking at all. However I'm direct buying into the eu530 super satellite on Stars to EPT Berlin. I wanted to sell some action but wasn't sure how to go about doing this. Any ideas? I was thinking of selling 1% of the satellite and then increasing the stake to 1.5% if I qualified.

Sigh.

"I'm not new to standard staking at all."

I just wanted to know how you would go about getting staked for a satellite. Is it just like normal? 1% of action = 1% of the satellite and then the same 1% for the main event if I qualify?.

stating that you "arent new to staking" and than asking quite a simple question about staking is kinda funny, imo

A simple question that you can't answer?

I believe 1:1 is completely standard, I AM a bit new to staking though but heard of a few of these deals made 1:1.

I believe that should be in line with your percieved edge, not so much on the type of play (unless that type gives you a significant edge ). I should probably let some more experienced staker chime in like Zima () (he is actually very experienced)

I just figured there was more risk to a staker of backing a player to win a satellite and then go on to cash in the event. Logic dictates that the staker needs to get a better price to discount the extra risk borne.

You might have a point, OR you could reason the fact that they have a shot at cashing in a big BI tourney while only having to invest a tiny bit of the amount it self, also if the player is worth investing in I dont think a satellite makes alot of difference. Then again, never did this myself actually and sometimes people do have strange staking deals offcourse, but I thought this was the way to go.

Very good point. They probably negate each other. I'll just go into the selling shares forum and do the standard thing then. Ty for your help.

Meh. I guess you know more about staking than you do about poker; but according to OPR that's not saying much.

p.s. I sorted my staking problem, it turns out I already satellited to the 530euro game for 80euros so no problems, see you in Berlin.

Hey

I was sort of in two minds weather to ask this question. As im not even sure if people stake these limits, and weather i was posting in the right are (maybe could have gone in "Beginners Questions"). In the end came to the conclusion that if i dont ask then i probably wont gain any further knowledge on this subject.

> Do people offer stakes at this level (2.20)?

> What sort of results are backers after? (Number of cashes, FT'S, Roi etc)

> The sample of games you have had to play?

> Do you need references from other 2P2ers?

I apologise if these question's i have asked are in any way naive, or are interputed as "dumb", but i just felt if i posted it then i could get some feedback from stakee's or people that have been staked, or anyone else who has any advice etc

Thanks for your time, Your help is appreciated

Regards SystemCheck

SystemCheck,

You can check my thread as we offer 2/90 stakes. Most of the question should be answered in the OP.

yes. personally i dont pass up on anyone as long as they are a good investment

> What sort of results are backers after? (Number of cashes, FT'S, Roi etc)

I am sure all backers look for different things, but what i look for is roi in the specific game you are requesting backing for and what kind of swings you go on in those games.

> The sample of games you have had to play?

anything under 1k games is kind of pushing it in terms of if you are a true winner in the game. I might take a shot on someone with like 600-1400 games, but they better have a pretty good track record in those games.

> Do you need references from other 2P2ers?

not always. it does help to have some refs from legit refs though. be prepared to give a little in terms of the deal if you dont have refs.

This might have been asked before, but i couldn't find it, so i figured I'll just fire out.

I know it is common practice for the backer to ask for and have horse's ID for obvious reasons, but is it OK for the horse to ask his/hers backer for their ID? Pretty much for the same reasons?

Thanks

not sure why the backer would need to give his ID up. its the backers money being invested and the horse really has nothing to lose

why would a horse need the backers ID?

Well, lets say horse has a massive heater and wins like 500BI in a week or wins a sunday major. This isn't backers money anymore. If the horse than decides to wipe his account clean and take off his and the backers money, then the backer at least has something to follow up on. But what does the horse have in case the opposite happens and the backer decides to clean the money?
Please don't get me wrong, i''m not saying this has happened or will happen, and i know the backers reputation is usualy far greater than the horses, but i felt is a question that has not been asked and wanted to hear people's opinon on it.

i could ask "what if" questions about a lot of things.

although you might be trying to stir up discussions and thats generally a good thing, i really dont see why the horse would ever need the backers info. if a horse ever asks me for my "info" i would give him my name and phone number.

thats about it.

oh, if a horse ships like 50k er something, he can always just self ban his account for a few days er something. trust is a big factor in staking though, and i cant imagine being that paranoid with a horse who is playing for that much money.
