Man, you seem like such an awesome backer. I'd kill to have you stake me if just for the experience.

I'm curious, I have seen your FR stake posts. Do you stake mainly FR? If so, is this because you have developed a good playing style? Is there less risk involved with FR play?

Great guide and valuable for someone like me, looking for a good coach/backer, to understand what I should expect from them and what they'd expect from me.

If you are concerned with your player altering/lying about the weekly results...

simply ask him/her to zip and send every hh and run it thru hm or pt. you can even go so far as to ask them to request the HHs directly from the website and fwd you the email.

im wondering what the general standard is for rakeback in staking deals. is it usually included with a 50/50 profit split or does the stakee usually keep RB

Apologies if this has been asked, but whats the standard regarding fpp's/full tilt points accrued during the stake? Is that used to maximize $$ out of them and then included in the stake, or is it solely the players?

harder to do with FPPs, but it's usually 50-50, and most of the time backer gets it all up to the point that covers the losses on the stake.

Thanks Jennifer.

I got into an argument with a stakee on this issue. He claimed since he had won, I should let him keep the FPPs and also that I had no claim on money he won from the VPP freerolls on Stars, although the account was solely for the stake. Has anyone set solid groundrules for what is SOP here?

All of my stakees split rakeback/fpps and any other bonus' etc and I have stakees from NL50 to NL5000

I'm curious as to what the point of getting the stakees personal information is if there isn't some sort of contract in place. Has anyone ever had their stake stolen, and were able to recover it just based on having their personal info?

Also, it does seem like it would be feasible to write up some sort of legal contract though of course the work it would take to recover say 10k would probably cost more than 10k and make the whole thing moot.

i usually let the horse keep their FPP/rakeback as an incentive for them to play more...

I always thought if the person was borderline to get a stake, or maybe if they play mid-high stakes SNG where rakeback could be a huge part of earnings it should be split, but most of the time it should be kept by the horse

Thats a good point, but I only see one potential problem with it. Players going for supernova/SNE may grind so much trying to achieve vip levels that its not optimal. Such as continuing to play more tables, longer, regardless of how things are going. Thoughts?

those are not the kind of ppl you want to stake anyway... i dont understand what you are asking

lol wtf

some people can be fpp whores when they are in huge MU and they get to keep fpps.

What about when the stake is for SS Cash Games, say 50NL. The FPPs/FTPs mean alot less then, so would the staker be happy to let the stakee keep them? Possibly get themselves a nice FTP Hoodie

someone who is going to be fixated on VIP status when they are not even profiting is not a good potential horse. am i wrong?

I don't get the wtf either. You don't want to back somebody who is just going to go for Supernova or SNE and disregard being profitable in the games. That is not a good horse iyam.

Of course, but suppose a profitable horse that you're staking is going for SNE, and normally the horse optimally plays 12-16 tables, but its getting down to crunch time for SNE and he bumps the tables up to 20-24 to try to make it. In the process his game significantly decreases cuz if the increased volume and such. Do you think that this would be a issue?

Hi,

Let's say i stak a guy for playing at pokerstars.
Is it possible to negociate with them a deal where stars would prevent stakee from cashouting and making player to player transfers during the staking period?

Thanks.
