in the gambling world, if you use the term "vouch" for something, its means you are on the hook for it.


I always make it really clear though when people ask me to vouch or provide a reference (2 completely different things).

Aleph, no offense, but you are delusional if you think I hate you, for that matter I have no recollection of you at the tables. I even typed Alpha and not Aleph initially and had to edit my post to change it. I just did a sharkscope search, I have played a total of 158 games out of maybe 60k total against you, you are down 1600. Why would I hate a player who I beat? However, I do give this thread 5 stars which is pretty good in the staking section of the site.

There are 2 kinds of " vouches" vouche 1. vouching for someones character. ie. does he steal, does he go to church, is he a good person, is he honest etc etc . vouche 2. " do you vouche for him and will pay back if f's me over" vouche2= you MUST clearly ASK and present this and get a YES answer before you are entitled to money back. This reminds me of ESPN when the players from NFL say " COMEEEE ONNNN MANNNNNNN"

This is just plain absurd. First off, kinda ridiculous someone would back that guy with the "vouch" you presented. But whatever, he can what he wants, but obviously nothing is your fault here

I took it as a warning as well. Just because the person has a degen problem doesnt make them a bad person (hence why you are/were friends with them)
but the debt is none of your responsibility just my small 2 cents. & BTW I hope if I ever get staking to the point where I ask for references they are as open and honest as you are. We need more people like yourself in the poker community.

FWIW I do like Jiac but I'm not on a first name basis w/ Jiac enough to call him "Danny", iOS 7 is just dumb and takes the last name out of the full name when you open up the text convo. Just pointing out that I really have no idea about Jiacs situation, or if what he said is even true. By the new iOS making it appear as if his name is in my phone as "Danny", it makes it seem like I may.

And if Jiac reads this the reason I said "haha why are you texting me?" wasn't out of dislike or anything. It's just that you had text me for the first time in forever and it was literally like 10 minutes after I got done reading the OP in this thread, so I thought somehow you may have known I read it.

This remind me of a situation i had. I went in with 8k dollar for somthing and brought a friend into The deal and He asked me if He was a scammer. i said no offcourse not and He went in with 2.8k dollar. We got scammed, The other guy tok all The money. And we both sat there. For me The right thing to do was to make my friend whole and i lost all The money on my cape. I should have said if u go in with The money u risk it to. But i dident so The right thing to do was to pay. Or that friend ship would go toilet. You put ur name tag on somthing and **** hit The fan u cant really back out. Or it makes u a bad person. So my honestly opinion would be give him half of what He lost would be fair.
Conclusion:

1: u were stupid enoug to be kind to say He was not a scammer, wich i think u should not have said after all u said u could never have a guarantee that, but u did and He scammed him.

2: how in The world he put his money into a "vouch" like that i cannot immagin.
So i think that was very stupid Judgement of him.

3: so for me it was Two bad Judgements from both parties and i think it should be divided The blame Even tough i think Nr:2 had worse lack of judgment.
So for me pay half would be more Than fair. Then u learn The hard way u cant guarantee any thing without some coniqunse.

Any way this was my humble opinion.
