Does it make sense to have 2 seperate payments with a cash game stakee? So weekly I get RB payment from him + another winnings payment?

What happens when we split 50/50 and his RB earnings is +$100 but his winnings are -$200. Do we just carry this -$100 over to the next week?

Thanks in advance sir

Hey guys, I hope this is the right place to ask this. I have a live player staked on a long-term staking arrangement with a 50% profit split. He is lifetime up about $5,000, so that is about $2,500 up for me.

We're on a trip together here in Las Vegas, and over about 1,000 hands of $1/$2 live he is down about $1800. This is the worst downswing he has ever had, and the worst I have seen amongst the four players I have staked.

After he dropped $1100, I told him to take a break, watch me play a bit, and keep track of all his hands. His last $600 I have seen, all seemed to be bad beats or coolers.

What should I do? When should I end the arrangement?

If dropping 1800 has you wanting to quit the stake then you obviously weren't rolled for this in the beginning.

If he's still playing profitably and you're stilled rolled to stake him I don't see why you'd drop him now unless you think he's become untrustworthy. You're on 100% of return for the next 1800.

I don't play live but is 9BI really a bad downswing, I only get worried when it gets to about 25 ?

but anyway, he's still up alot so why would you get rid of him if he is a profitable player?

Thank you for the advice guys, I appreciate it.

I'm not worried about the magnitude of the downswing, I'm worried about the speed. 450BB down over 1000 hands is pretty unlikely, at least according to my math. Running with a 10BB/100 win-rate and a 50bb/100 standard deviation the results are less than 1/1000.

I am bankrolling players with my own account, so it is effectively unlimited at this level ($100,000+). I'm mostly interested in making a sound business decision.

I asked him to move down to $0.50/$1 last night and he is up about $250, so hopefully he can pull out of it.

Again, thanks for the advice guys. I am new to this and I really appreciate it.

In my experience, typical poker math doesn't translate well to live since it is so slow and they the dynamic is very different. In online, where 1k hands can take an hour or less, losing 5BI is most likely tilt and poor playing. In live, that can be more than one session and a moderate amount of bad luck / coolers.

Hi Guys,

Just to check with you. I got a guy who is willing to back my long term MTTs tourneys with full buy-in ($33) and willing to bear all my losses but he will be taking 2/3 of the profit ( around 67%) and i will only be taking 1/3 of the profit ( around 33% ). Is this a standard staking deal? Is this a good deal? Should i take it?

Most mtt deals are closer to 50/50 if they are longterm and include makeup.

If you are accepting a stake to play much higher than you currently are and can't find better opportunities it could be worth a shot though.

How longterm is longterm for MTT's?

Which are the most staker/backer friendly rooms/networks on the market?

What i mean by that: the rooms support and accept staking agreements by disallowing withdrawals or peer to peer transfers from the account or allowing logins from multiple IPs and etc...any other examples of support and understanding from their side are welcome..

My staker proposed the following deal: He gives me 4.000 dollars to supplement my 4.000 dollar bankroll. We share 50 % of the losses if I exit the year in the red. If my numbers are black, he gets 10 % of my profit for the entire year, plus the 4.000 dollars.

I will start with 1-2 PLO HU and move up in stakes when I have 50-60 buy-ins for the new limit. I am a 7-8 bb winner over roughly 100.000 hands and my std deviation is 200 bb pr 100 hands.

Does this sound fair? I think it's a decent deal myself, but I want to apply some sort of cap in case I run hotter than lava.

Sounds pretty awesome. I wouldn't set a cap.

how many posts do I need to post on this forum or is it necessary to send the deal first to an admin?

alexuuus, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
