I'm trying to start a new thread in this forum and it's saying I don't have permission. What's the deal with that?

Hopefully this hasn't been answered before.

I have a stake who recently was suspended by FTP for a suspicious transfer. It doesn't look like it will end well so my question is: Is he responsible for reimbursing me for the stake + profits or do I just add the lost amount (original stake, not profits) to his makeup?

It shouldnt change things, he has to resolve his issues with FTP.

Question about starting a thread in the rail section for a Mod, I recieved a stake and the backer wants me to start a thread and keep track in the rail section. I have submitted a request for access and am not sur eif I am not approved or it hasn't been visited yet. In order to best serve this backer, I would like to know if it is possible to be able to start a thread in the rail section for this stake.

How do you account for taxes in staking arrangements? Does backee have to cover the taxes? Or does he use an estimate of profit after what taxes would be and then pay the backer the percentage of that? Or as my accountant suggested, you provide the backers tax id number to show where the other part of your winnings went that you don't want to be taxed on, so the IRS knows?

Totally case by case -- talk to your backer (or horse)

Can someone tell me if there is a thread which has a list of people/user names who ask for stakes but are scammers? I recently came across a scammer who scams several individuals for small stakes which add up to thousands of dollars...

Negative feedback thread in the front marketplace page. Other staking sites also host known scammer lists as well, try googling "known scammers poker"

Not sure if this has already been answered, but I couldln't find it anywhere:

Is there a way you can you split player points on Pokerstars in staking agreements?

hey guys, just wondering whether someone could give me a answer to this Q...

In Cash staking, Is there a rough standard to the % split when staking a player who wants to pot shot the occasional soft table at higher limits but doesn't want the agreement to involve makeup? (also if it makes a difference, the commitment would be over a period of time (ie 2 months) rather than x amount of hands since would only be playing the much softer tables, hence difficult to predict the volume). Cheers guys.

FPP value is usually split by playing satellites to the Sunday 1/4 million (280fpps, winners take $11 entry) and then unregistering for the T$. For larger stakes or higher volume players, sometimes cash bonuses are bought w/ FPPs or larger sats ( like to the Sunday Million) can be played but the fields are not as soft there.

Standard % is 50/50 w/ MU. Work from there with the provisionals:

no makeup = higher risk = +% in the backers favor
shottaking = more variance = +% backers favor
super soft tables = higher edge = +% horses favor

etc

Depends entirely on how much you can trust them and how many they play at once, as well as how often you'll be available to refill them if necessary. Stakes are always 50/50 on profit + stakeback, so the BR you give him is given back to you at the end of the stake if it is still intact.

Yeah sure JL, I understand totally about standard agreements having been staked before... Just wondered whether you had any suggestions as to what would be a fail split in the example i gave (however bare the details)? Just trying to find a consensus on what would be reasonable starting point.

Yeah, as I said it's pretty tough to give a fair split example without knowing a bunch of things. The best you can do is chat with the horse and say "these are the reasons the cut should be better in my favor, these are why it would increase your way -- lets come to a common ground so we can start making some money together"

I doubt you're going to find anyone with a comparable experience to give you guidance so you're probably going to need to wing it

I've browsed around this forum and haven't seen any threads for staking live cash games. I saw a post about this earlier in this thread, but didn't see any answers posted.

Is a 2/5 NL live stake reasonable to ask for here? It seems like it would be frowned upon because the staker would have to 100% trust the horse to correctly report everything. Also I put in low volume (few hours / week) because I only like to play at optimal times and also have to balance with wife and work.

Yes, you can try, but as you state you're unlikely to get much/any action

If it's a long story and might generate discussion between you and the party involved (in which case it's not likely to be a 100% scam) a thread is sometimes ok. Usually we ask that you just make a post in the negative feedback thread with as much info as possible.

i think there should be a sticky in all sections of the marketplace if poss to this thread

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...forums-549322/

and telling everyone whenever they take up a stake to search there name and usernames in that thread.
