Ok that's fine. I'm not saying i agree or disagree with anything you or I wrote, but rather wanted to hear an opinion form a knowledgeble person who does this day in day out. You sir, qualify as such in my book, so i take your answer as the default.
Thanks again

Also, why cant I post in the original staking forum? Member since 2005??? Any mod know? plz PM me or move thread.

PS I had a stake at Sharkstaking.com fall through at the last minute...they were a little nitpicky (understandable i guess) but I dont know why I filled out all the paper work just for them to drop the offer because they didnt want the large variance. He suggested I try 2+2.

How the stakee protects himself from beeing scammed by backer, who's got your copy of ID?
What are possible consequences for stakee?
Can backer somehow create another accounts on poker rooms with all the info of the stakee and ID scan?

Where can I read about this, if it's been discussed?

First of all, the ratio of staker scammers to stakee scammers is prob like 1to99. Why are stakers gonna ruin a lucrative business by taking twice what he is owed if hes already made a big profit. Scamming happens when stakees go on tilt and blow rolls or finish a stake and dont want to ship back.

If you go and apply for a job, theyre gonna make you fill out an application and run background checks etc. Do you think a job applicant should be able to ask a company for financial records, HR payroll etc?

Go read the negative feedback thread in marketplace. I don't think there is a single instance of a stakee claiming being scammed by a staker. But if you're really worried about how giving your info to a backer is gonna get you scammed, you probably shouldnt get staked.

I´ve read somewhere, that you can´t cashout transferred funds on PokerStars. So, let´s say I have staked someone, he cashes big and transfers 2000 bucks to my PS account. I can´t cashout this amount?

First of all, yes I understand the ratio between these two groups, but that was not a question.
Secondly, why do you think I should not learn, which consequences and bad things might happen to me, in case I ran into this 1 out? I treasure my own personal information more then few K bucks. And especially, why should I not be staked on that matter? This makes no sense for me at all. And moreover, you are trying to put bad reputation on me by such offensive remarks. That's not good at all.

I take poker as a business, as it might be my main income for mid-term or even long-term and I want to protect myself with knowledge and decrease financial risks as much as I can. So I really don't understand your attitude, sir.

If I don't get something, feel free to point it to me, I am new to this thing, so just using common sense. But, please, keep the manners positive. I appreciate it.

giving your personal info is a decision that you have to make when you decide to be staked. dont give your info to someone who you dont trust. some backers have better reps than others, and going with the more established is most likely better. they have more to lose.

as far as getting money transferred to you and than cashing it out right away, you cant do that on stars. you gotta at least clear a minimal amount of fpps with it. it cuts down on stars risk of being a money laundering avenue.

PokerDeisel: I didnt really think I was giving any attitude but you obviously were offended so I apologize.

As I said and as Zima said, if you arent comfortable giving your info to a backer, then you shouldn't enter a staking arrangement with that backer. I was just pointing out that with the law of supply and demand, stakers are in a much much powerful position than stakeee.

I personally have never heard of a staker using a stakees info for fraud and have have never seen anything in the negative feedback thread about it. As I explained, the staker has no motivation for doing this and so it is very unlikely to happen.

I'm sure it has happened somewhere and is possible so I think the advice Zima gave is good. Find a staker that has a sold reputation and is well established who has too much to lose by ripping you off.

Hello, I am still kinda new to the staking/markeplace section of 2p2 and may have kinda a stupid question. I cant find the thread where you request stakes, I can only find the one for 2p2 members of 6 months or less (but I have members with more than 6 months post). Is there a thread that is what Im looking for or should I just post in that thread I just previously mentioned.

Okay thanks!
Anthony

Hey Anthony. The best place to do that is here. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/135/staking/

There you will see a bunch of backers taking applications for stakes.

If you want to make your thread just click new thread. You probably arent marketplace approved yet. You have to be approved before you can create threads in that forum.

The way to get approved is to go to my 2+2 and click the control panel on the dropdown screen. Then under group memberships there should be a place request marketplace approval.

I would really be interested what people would think to be fair in a one time live mtt backing with no makeup... 80/20? also I would then like to hear what people would think of say a 20-25 wsop tourneys live backing deal with no makeup should be... 60/40? 50/50? to say a winner in the 109r.. ofcourse im talking initial cashed would go back to backer and it would really be only on the profit. so say if backer puts up 50k in buyins and horse cashed for 30k the backer gets back the 30k and takes a loss on 20k.

1 off deals should be 80/20 at most (anything more is really really bad for the backer)

not sure what a fair wsop deal would be. i would think something along the lines of 70/30 to 65/35 in favor of backers.

i have real experience in live series backing deals though.

Just wondering what the easiest way to control/check if the player you are staking is shipping the correct amount of money to you(cash games). ie not rolling the stake or taking shots. I know TR is one option but they sometimes miss hands and so does HEM sometimes. I personally don't care what my player does with his end of winnings(whether it be taking shots or cashing out) but I want to make sure I'm getting my full amount at the end of the week. Is there any other way to go about doing this? Thanks in advance(most likely Zima since zima pwns.)

stars has a cool feature for backers. its called an account audit. it shows every single thing that a horse does on the account.

bascially the file is sent to the horses email account and he can forward the email directly to you.

not 100% sure what there is on other sites though

Thanks a lot. One more question. Is there a way to go about adding horses from 2p2. I currently can't start a thread, is there another way to advertise that I'm looking to stake?
