Trying to shake off the positive karma from shanoobigans stakes already?
I am downswinging online ATM but I am still up about $200 from my last buyin.

1. I am reasearching it carefully. No cards ar in the air just yet.

2. The charity is operated by a close personal friend and I have seen it in action so the Karma is solid.

The shanoobigans deal was a lot of fun. I won a limit event that covered all my entries and one of my NOOBS won and shipped me $4.75 so the entire venture -$6.25.

In addition to what Zima said, you both should be posting in the Members <6 months thread. Make sure you read the OP of that thread too.

The more honest information you put out there about yourself and why you would be a good stake, the better your chances of getting noticed.

Also, increasing your participation across the other 2+2 forums, helps too.

Responding to emails, aim, msn etc

I've been staked roughly 6 months by someone who has gone awol/not respond to me twice for 3 weeks, and now he has said one sentence to me in last 7~ weeks despite me sending him numerous questions.

The account being staked is linked to an email he created in which I do not have any access. During these multiple periods in which he has gone awol I have had many issues which I can not resolve because I can't have access to the email.

He is very inactive with the hole process in general, I could have scammed/cheated him but havent.

What should I do?

Im tempted to ship him back the $ and say **** it even though I am in small amount of makeup still...

your backer sounds like a dick

agree completely.

his effort needs to be on somewhat of the same level as yours for this arrangement to work

do you have any buyout provisions for your makeup?

yes he owes you common courtesy and good communication is going to help any backing/stake relationship.

Absolutely. Communication is basically the most important thing in a successful stake...

Your backer sounds like a douchebag, not so much him owing his horse common courtesy, but owing a human common courtesy.

The stupid thing is that you'll be looked on really badly if you leave now, no matter what the circumstances are. I'd just grind a ton, get out of makeup and tell him to gfhimself

it always seems like people who make these statements think they should get a pat on the back for not being a scumbag.

I didnt mean that literally i'm just saying how uninvolved he is, for several weeks I would just do the math myself and divide the profits. He liked doing things over msn and since hes offline/ignoring me 99% of the time we could never do that.

Just a quick couple of questions: I'm new to staking people.
I have one pony who I am staking for $100 NL. We have a good thing going. Shipped him $2000 for FR $100NL

I'm leaning towards finding another person to stake at either $50 or $100NL, in addition to my current person.

What's some good things to look for, aside from good looking graphs and winrate? What advice could some of you guys offer me? And what's the standard "stake" for a particular level? 10 buy ins? 5? 20?

And what's make up?

For live tournaments on one off basis.

Assuming stakee undertakes all outside costs himself(like travel, accomodation etc)

Is 70/30 in backers favour a fair split for 100% of buy-in?

The stakee having a sizeable edge on the field is understood obv.

Reputation, volume, level head. 20 buyins is good, especially if multitabling, but you can do trial periods w/ less to build trust etc etc.

70/30 to 80/20 is standard for single event stakes

I am looking for a stake in 6 handed cash games. I have played over 200k hands in both $25nl and $50nl and have made good money. But unfortunately I have always had to cash out my winnings in order to my bills....

If anyone is interested, PM me and I can send you some stats, thanks.

I don't remember how this started out but i was offered backing for 1K to play tournaments on FTP and I accepted for an even chop.

So he puts in $100 dollars in my account and tells me he'll put more in as i need it well i don't really need a $100 stake probably don't need 1K either but w/e free variance

So I play a couple of donkaments and win ~$500 bucks with him railing me on his laptop at his house and after i am finished he immediately takes his $100 back...get's on my account and transfers...i didn't think much of this at the time i mean he'd never steal my money he is rich

So you know i've been playing for hours to tired to complain next day I get online and win almost 3K

So I chop 2.5K with him and leave 1K in my account but all of a sudden i'm steaming...do i really owe him a chop at this point kinda seems to me he ended the stake when he pulled his money out

You question is not too clear so I am not 100% sure what the whole situation is. Did you have a stakeback arrangement with him? Meaning you pay him back 50/50 plus the original 100 he staked you for?
