Sorry for the little info. I know most people on these boards hate me and will just stir things up. What I've done is wrong. I was in a bind and used poor judgement and made a horrible mistake. I used the money to pay bills. I'm not rolling blunts out of 100$ bills or smoking at all.

My only way to make this right is to return home and find a job. I have a couple of options there so shouldn't take me 2 long once I get home to start paying people back. The investors are asking me for a payment plan now. Well that isn't possible at this time. While I'm in Australia I'm on a tourist visa. I'm not able to get a job or work or I would have done that.

The only thing I can do here is return home get a job figure out how much I'll be making then as a group I will present how much a month I can pay back and we can all try to agree on a reasonable pay back plan. I will agree to a fair interest. Up until this point I've always done the right thing and never stole. I know my rep is ruined (rightfully so) and most likely will never be trusted again. I understand this completely. However I'm not disappearing and not trying to make contact. I don't talk much to Barry simply because it usually results in a 5th grade conversation where all he does is name call and threaten how he wants to ruin my life. Nothing from conversations with him ever produces anything positive. So I don't see any reason to make contact with him. However if he would like to talk to me I don't mind having a convo as long as it's not how the previous ones has been. I understand he's irate with good reason. But as I said the only possible plan here is to return home get a job and try to grind on my off hours.

I can't give you guys a payment plan until after I get a job I hope you understand that. If you don't I can't make it any clearer. I have no family who can help me out in this situation.

I will be in contact via email and apologize to everyone involved. I will make this right with time.

The Jake or anyone else with input: What are your thoughts on MU that a horse has in a situation like this?
12-13-2011 , 04:17 AM
If the case is Nate stole backing funds from the stable and ultimately horses (how many existed?) can not be reloaded to play their games because of it, seems like Nate should be responsible for 100% of the makeup. Correct me if I'm wrong but Nate took funds from investors for a stable and actually did pick up a few horses with the funds?

You emailed me weeks ago suggesting a payment plan, i emailed back saying what i wanted you to do and to post everything out in the open on here and to keep in contact. I hear nothing from you for weeks until we all do when you thought someone was chasing you up and shock horror i am a bit annoyed. Sorry for stating any facts you didnt like but i was only trying to help with your delusional ways.

Thanks for finally posting in here and please keep us updated without having to be asked first

To be honest if he is completely broke and he hasn't got friends or family to bail him out with a plane ticket home his best bet is to get himself deported. Australia isn't a cheap place to live and the airfare back to the US isn't going to be cheap. It's going to take him forever to get that money together playing $1 and $2 tournies...any profits he does make are just going to be eaten up by living expenses.

Let me explain further, because theres more than one scam that happened.

Nate scammed 4 investors for his sng stable to the tune of 15k.

Nate stole ~1300 from me that was supposed to be used to play poker with.

By stealing money from me he effectively ended our backing deal, so what happens to the MU that he had accrued? Should part of that be included in a repayment plan?

What site were you backing him on and when? I had been backing his chilli1231 account up until this all came out... He has said so many times that he will be sending me an audit. It's been close to a month now and still nothing, so until then I'll just assume he stole everything I sent him.

If he does come through with an audit soon and it proves that he only stole a portion of the money then he will be in MU with me too. I am expecting him to pay back 50% (his profit share was 50/50).

swd,

In theory he owes 100% of it. In reality that makeup is probably worth little to nothing. Nate directly controls how much that makeup is worth (unfortunately). But he definitely owes some fraction of it if not all of it. I'd suggest you and Nate reach an agreement over a buy out under these circumstances, assuming he's trying to salvage what's left of his reputation.

Yeah that sounds fair to me.

This scammer and thief, Nate Grow, has not made any repayments or even bothered to make contact with his victims.

What I don't understand is how people can send thousands of dollars for an investment to someone they have never met and yet, be totally surprised when they get scammed. Many of the posters on here blame Nathan Grow. I think the real culprit is staring you in the mirror.

Ok, I'll stay ignorant....and keep from getting scammed. Perhaps, instead of taking a shot, explain why it is ok to send a stranger thousands of dollars for an investment?

Maybe in my old age (45 seems to be ancient on these forums) I have become to set in my ways, and know how to decipher b.s. from reality.

Look around the marketplace and the scam to non-scam ratio. These staking forums wouldnt exist if backing wasnt profitable. Sure theres some risk but most backers are able to be profitable because scams dont happen all that often and most of the time you can find out if someone is trustworthy before doing business.

You are not making a very convincing argument. The scam to non-scam ratio? Are you kidding me? People are sending thousands of dollars to people they have never met. They are relying on other people whom they have never met to "vouch" for others whom they have not met in person. Yeah, that sounds like a reliable system to me. (Can you sense the sarcasm here?)

Oh yeah, almost forgot...this is a backer who is too broke to back his horses. So he borrows money from others to do the backing. And this sounds like a great investment?

Like I said....if someone is naive enough to invest this way....they deserve some of the blame themselves. BTW his repayment plan sounds promising...
Spoiler:
NOT

Nathan has 5k+ of my money on ftp. Anyone think that ps would be open to helping me get any of it back?
08-01-2012 , 11:08 AM
Simple answer. No.

Stars doesn't get involved when it comes to staking theft at all. Probably smart because it would be more of a headache than anything for them.

Still no repayments. Happy birthday nate btw!
