Welcome

I want to provide you with a few details on what an Investment strategy would look like for NLHE. Also, i'll propose a starting date, payback / profit expectations, and information on poker staking / bankroll management. There will be essentially three different types of staking formats available whether it be in Kansas or Vegas. I'll start with Kansas as it will be a good place to start tracking data and ROI / Win rate. This includes three Staking opportunities 1) Cash Game only 2) Poker tournaments only 3) Hybrid Cash Game + Tournaments.

Based on past experience and information i've gathered from other poker professionals it is recommended that you play at the proper EV for your bankroll. Which stands for expected value. This means if you play NLHE at $2/$5 with a buy - in of $500 and your ROI is 10/100BB. But let's say there are tougher players at $1/$3 with a buy - in of $300 and your ROI is 5/100BB. This means your win rate is half as good even though it is a lower stake. A Lot of pros have noted the higher the stakes the softer the games can be. I know from personal experience that the 5-10 times I played the $500 buy in game that I had success just about every time and that is not an exaggeration. Oftentimes you'll find businessmen or extremely casual players playing higher stakes for the challenge.

I say that to say this.. the $2/$5 $500 buy - in game is a more profitable game however it is usually only available during peak hours like later in the week or weekends.

Here's a bit of information to further explain what I've said above.

To surmise game selection can significantly boost your ROI. Above is an example of cash game game selection.

Profit expectations - In poker your cash game win rate is determined by your BB/hr or BB/100. Meaning if it's a $1/$2 cash game the $2 represents the BB. So if your win rate is 10 bb/hr then you're making $20 pr/hr. Ill give a second example for the bigger buy in cash game $2/5 where the $5 represents the BB. If your win rate is 10 bb/hr then you're making $50.00 pr/hr. In tournaments it will be more straightforward by explaining your win rate in the form of ROI percentage. As I mentioned earlier it is very possible to see your BB/hr go up the higher you go in stake as typically most poker grinders are playing $1/2 or 1/3 as it's just the most common game particularly in Kansas. Based on my poker history and experience there is not a buy-in level that exists in poker that I would feel is above my level of skill. Vegas will have games available regularly like $5/10 and $10/20 which is a standard buy-in of 1k or 2k. Now if you can have that same win rate of 10 bb/hr or better which pros suggest is very possible. Thenyour looking at a rate of $100 pr/hr or $200 pr/hr. This is the goal but not limited to

Profit expectations for poker tournaments - Poker tournaments have variance but can also represent significant highlights in a professional poker player's career both in terms of prestige and monetary value.

Payback -

I anticipate weekly tournament profits to be on average approx. between $700-1500. Cash game profits approx to be around 10 bb/hr so at $1/3 that is $30 pr/hr at $2/$5 it will be about $50 pr/hr over the course of 30 hours will end up at approx. 18 hours of playing $1/$3 plus 12 hours of playing $2/5 equals $1,140 a week for cash game plus the median average of $1100 for poker tournaments equalizing in approx $2,240 a week. That we split 50/50 after makeup
