no rake race for February no rake race for February

i assume it was too costly for them to continue the rake races...there will be no rake race and you now have diamonds are forever or whatever it is...i thought rake races were continuing

ill def be slowing down this month, enjoy softer tables =P
02-01-2009 , 03:08 PM
What the hell?
02-01-2009 , 03:09 PM
This is absurd I will not be playing there much in Feb if no rake races.
02-02-2009 , 02:58 AM
yeah the Diamonds Are Forever promo is kinda dumb...if its rewarding only the top LP earner like I think it is, not many people are gonna be fighting for it imo...its really hard to earn the most LPs out of everyone on Eurolinx. The summer rake races were the nuts, why can't they have races as good as those again? C'mon, Eurolinx, we have faith in you.
02-02-2009 , 03:02 AM
question is, was microgaming backing these rake races or was it all eurolinx money. If i was to guess, id say it was part microgaming and what has happened of late in regards to changes in microgaming?? Doyles pulled out as did some sportsbooks who has microgaming poker..loss of business means less money to spread around..who knows. Sorry eurolinx, i have pulled money off your site as youi told us that rake races were gona continue in 2009...

Would it really hurt you guys that much to give away like 2x as much money for rake races? Surely it would pay for itself on your guys' end, and it'd be good for a bunch of reasons. It'd generate a lot more rake, its relatively cheap (adding like $15k or whatever isn't much for you guys), it'll bring a lot of new players in, and it'll surely keep all the old grinders on there.

I'd be surprised if you guys thought this was a bad idea.

They might have to pay most of the December reload bonuses in February, hence the savings...

Lydia,
Can you please reply to this thread and let us know why there are no rake races this month? In the past it has been implied that rake races where a permanent/semi-permanent aspect of eurolinx promotions. Can you please let us know what is going on.

no response speaks volumes...lydia your suppot has been great in the past please respond..as to pyaing the deposit reload bonuses id say its a fraction to pay in resprect of the money they made in rake

meh the "no response" thing isnt that serious considering, its bearly going to be tuesday morn in a few hrs, im sure they will get around to it.

That being said im sure they will see a slight decrease in traffic, the Q is how much and if its a +Ev business decission or not, i mean even the Jan races were weak at best in comparison to the past, but if they atleast had the Equiv of jan races in feb it woulda been nice. Now i just want some sort of race.

Of course there is always silver lining guys. Im decreasing my online play by about 60% this month, gunna be nice. Will end up playing a lot of LAPC live mtt events. I understand others might not have this luxury or convience of location and timing, but look to other things that might be more EV for you.;If you cant find them then stick with EL.

Hi Boohaa, I've only played on Eurolinx a couple of months and I thought the Jan races were pretty good for grinders. Can you tell me how the races were better in the past? Higher payouts/more places paid or something?

Remember when eurolinx eliminated $ tables at higher stakes and switched to all euro denominated tables? Lydia said something to the effect of " We realize it means a slight increase in rake but we will just increase our promotions to make up for it." Well here we are a few months later and they cut out the rake races. Congrats eurolinx you are truly the greediest bastards around.

The site is a total shambles right now and I'm not at all just speaking regarding the rake race situation, which I don't particularly care about. I feel embarrassed that I recommended the site to various individuals. I'm moving on, and I'm advising my students to do the same.

Hi,

Sorry about the late replies in this forum. I've been traveling, then got the flu last week, and I'm still just recovering.

The Linxpoints races were taken down to try some other promotions. They will most likely come back. What we've found are that the races are very important to some players, but not at all important to a lot. Some kind of balance has to be found. They aren't gone forever, just for now.

Best regards,
Lydia

They aren't important to me directly, i don't play a tonne of hands so i usually make <1k/month, but i think it affects the eurolinx economy hugely

The rakeback pros will not play without it (certain high volume players have not been spotted this month, should be obvious who) and the other regulars do not play cos the RB pros are not there to provide an extra 'mark' in the game, hence i don't play cos there are no games running.

Please Lydia, reccomend the reintroduction of rake races in March, it affects almost everyone, directly or indirectly

Translation,
The linxpoints races were taken down to save us $. They will probably come back if people stop playing in February because of it. We have found that the rake races are very important to high volume players who make our site the most $. They are gone until people get pissed enough.

So introducing a high priced watch to a few people instead of rake races to more people isnt the answer

Hi,

I'm surprised by how ugly this thread has gotten. When another site stops a promotion that seems to have run its course, do they get these types of responses too? If a retail store ends a 20% off sale after running for over a year, do they get rocks thrown through their windows?

The purpose of us having a forum on 2+2 is to further open the lines of communication between the community here and Eurolinx. It is to share ideas so that our company can better serve your needs. It is not to offer a punching bag for 2+2ers to attack with all the reasons they may dislike poker rooms.

Your displeasure at the races ending this month is noted. We have other promotions running right now, and it's likely we'll bring the races back at some point in the future. I don't see this thread progressing into anything productive, so I'm going to use my mod privileges and try to figure out how to lock it.

As a last thought: people here seem to have a misconception about how profitable poker rooms are. If you think about the math for a bit, you'll see that, like any business, we cannot sell our product at cost. Just like other businesses, we have overhead and fees and, if we do manage to pull a profit at the end of the month, we like to spend that money on development and marketing so that we can get more customers. If you don't pull a profit, you end up with Tusk.

Best regards,
Lydia
