I don't complain to the Head of Marketing for the entire chain either.
To your point about supermarkets' main source of income not being any one item, what income are Eurolinx deriving from FREErolls? That's purely a promotional item. There's no profit in raking money they gave out in the first place. The freerolls are to make their players feel appreciated. That's why they give extra chips to folks who actually play for real money. Because they're customers.
But I've got to insist any further discussion of this analogy be done in the Grocery Forum.

there are definitely down times when there are like maybe 2-3 tables of 100nl running, and if there was a large freeroll at that time, for example, it'd surely increase this number.
I disagree here. I don't think many more 100NL tables will start running due to a freeroll. Most of the people playing them don't have $1, much less $100 of 'em. I also don't think they'd be playing some NL cash games while freerolling. Most of 'em don't strike me as multi-tablers.
I think your point is that more freerolls will bring more players, right? That's great, but I believe their promotions (of any sort) are aimed at rewarding their existing ones. Eurolinx knows you can play on any skin across the network. They want you to stay on theirs. I'm sure they do their best to attract new customers while retaining their existing ones. I think they do pretty well.
I just noticed this part of the OP

5. It cannot be so generous that we would have to reduce the Races or take away the First Deposit Bonus to run it.
That implies they have a budget set for this kind of stuff. You basically said "increase that budget. it's no big deal." Apparently it is.
