At 21-years-old, Trevor "Thac" Hackworth is currently playing $5/$10 NL and taking a few shots at $10/$20. Before Trevor found his break in Poker, he used to deliver pizza, which he says was a horrible experience he'll never do again.
When Trevor first began playing poker, he would go on TitanPoker where he started playing freerolls. Soon, he discovered his first big win when he placed 4th in a $20, 180 man SNG, shortly after he moved on to $25NL.
Until recently, Trevor's biggest challenge in poker was always the mental aspect of the game as he would tilt and basically give away about a third or more of his month's profits. He said he would do this by randomly shoving stacks and just playing poorly. However, he overcame this challenge during the summer and saw his results skyrocket.
While Trevor is succeeding now, he does credit a lot of his success to his first coach Carrotsnake. "He taught me a lot of solid fundamentals on aggression and how to deal with a lot of thin spots and I've parlayed that into a lot of profits since," says Trevor.
Although he is currently not in college he plans to return next fall with a major in Accounting. For the mean time as things continue to go well for him, he hopes that in three years he will be continuing with school, playing games $5/$10 and higher and hopefully living with his current girlfriend, moving towards marriage and a family.
