Playing for only several months and already at $10/$20 NL this 25-year-old is making a name for himself in the poker community.

Graduating three years ago with a double major in Psychology/Law and Society from York University in Toronto, Ali had aspirations of continuing his education with graduate school. However, once he discovered poker his life changed into a completely new world.

Starting at $50 NL, when he deposited $250 into an account, Ali began 9-tabling and as he says, "with absolutely no idea of what I was doing." That is, no idea until he found LeggoPoker. Once he discovered LeggoPoker he jumped right into $100NL and from there continued to find success.

With his success in $100NL Ali decided, three months ago, to try and move on to $3/$6 NLHE where he kept on the grind until he made his way up to $10/$20 NLHE. Even though Ali has seen success with poker and has continued to increase his bankroll, he unfortunately has not been able to experience the full benefit of it because of financial obligations. "Hopefully, the climb can continue soon," says Ali speaking brightly of his future in poker.

Even though Ali has found success easily he still has had his setbacks with poker. "Definitely people’s perception was the biggest hurdle, as family and friends always understood that my future was pretty planned, then came an abrupt change for something socially questionable."

It wasn't until Ali's family and friends realized that although poker wasn't socially acceptable, to the eyes of others, they had noticed that he treated poker the same as any other commitment and profession; with respect and discipline. Not only is it his drive they noticed, but the obvious rewards poker has brought him. "Not even the profession I envisioned getting myself into up until a few years ago can compare to the freedom, income and overall life EV of poker."

With help from Two Plus Two, which helped with him understand the fundamentals and knowledge of poker, he also acknowledges LeggoPoker for bringing all the information to life with the help of the videos available by the pros. Not only is it poker websites he credits for helping him with poker, but also the friends he has made, who he says are some of the most helpful and caring people he's ever met.

When Ali looks into his future three years from now he hopes to be, "earning a ticket out of the traditional world; for one full of innovation, travel and the satisfaction of every intellectual curiosity."

His first four tabling 200NL video is now live.

It is the first in a four part series designed to help you beat the aggressive 200NL games on PartyPoker.
