i love the omega speedmaster. i own one and i love it. i wear it often it looks great and it keeps great time. it's a bit smaller than this dark side of the moon version though. this one reminds me more of the iwc pilot chronograph than a speedmaster, except that this dial is much more elaborate. i like the idea of partial skeletonization on a dial face, but i feel like they missed a step by not bringing those exposed components to a mirror finish. maybe that's just the difference between a top tier manufacturer and a shop like omega that is more automated in its production.

it kind of feels like they're pulling themselves in two different directions with the dial design, not going full skeletonization and not going full moonface laser etching. i think i would have liked the moonface texture better if they went with it throughout the dial (minus the subdials and hour markings ofc). and to have such a neat texture broken up by brushed steel components i feel a little disappointed like why did you bother?

the steel link band on the regular speedmaster is great. i think for a tool watch like this i'd want a steel bracelet over a leather strap but you know what? if i owned this watch i'm sure i'd love it, there's a lot to like about it
