I half cannot stand my job anymore.

Bought this replacement part at an Ace Hardware Store couple weeks ago and took for granted that there might be some universality to their availability at various stores. Not the case. I drove to various Ace Hardware in the vicinity of the job I was doing today, but none had the part that I had procured at this other Ace Hardware in the metro area absolutely infuriating. Called the shop and a secretary was able to assist me in pinpointing which store I had used a couple weeks back, but holy cow

I pretty much hate my job too, so don’t worry about it!

Society is ****ed anyway. If climate change doesn’t get us, destruction of nature will.

I just wanna get my own house, so I can build a bunker in the garden and then just chill.

Sounds like fun. Climate Change is destruction of nature, in that the seas are too hot and too polluted to maintain sealife etc etc

Saw a segment on how the west coast is on fire, and the east coast underwater.

I bit my tongue just now, wanting to b*tch about the midwestern swampy humid hellhole KC is today, because I guess we have it good lol

Yes, climate change is helping the destruction of nature, but we’re also doing plenty of that on our own. Gotta keep paving over paradise to put up them parking lots.

This post confuses me. You say bad things about Social Media and then in the last line you say that Social Media is fine and just like any other alternative.

Weird.

Another oil spill! Bring on the acid rain. Slightly insane, the way we live. It seems like we don't give a damn!

ok so like i have prints of famous paintings in my house. well, semi-famous anyway, but paintings that i like. the real ones are worth millions or tens of millions of dollars each, i can't afford a real one but i can enjoy the art and vibe of a fake one in a nice frame. but let's say instead of screen printed, one of these was hand painted by a forger, it could fool someone into thinking it might be real. like antinques roadshow sometimes people buy these paintings at a garage sale and it takes an expert to tell them "ya this is legit by this famous artist in 1864" or whatever.

so with NFTs, what you're trading is this token with the provenance of the artwork. and it's on a public ledger that's independently verifiable, with a couple clicks i can digitally sign a contract that says "yes i am the owner of this wallet hi there". and it's not limited to art, it could be like a pair of sneakers that people buy and trade on secondary markets. the special thing about NFTs is the token is a verifiable proof of ownership of some THING. now, that "thing" could be worthless nonsense, or it could be something valuable. the fact that something is an NFT doesn't make it valuable, but a valuable thing as an NFT is very easy to buy/sell/hold semianonymously through this crypto blockchain framework.

Fun Fact: Ace Hardware are all privately owned so each one is unique! Except sometimes the same private owner may own several I guess.

Dabble, welcome to the war on cars.
09-18-2021 , 03:36 AM
I understand, but people are going gangbusters over these NFTs, and so far they all just look like completely worthless.

It’s like, ok cool, you can verify you own this thing, but this thing isn’t worth owning!

I’m not against cars, I just wish there weren’t so many of them, and they weren’t so loud and poisonous.
