Daz seems to have a level of anxiety that makes not going to the wedding something other than a choice he's making. Like there is no way I'd go skydiving for a friend's bachelor party, no matter how much he wanted me to. I wouldn't be choosing not to go, there's just no way in hell I'm jumping out of a plane unless I'm already in it and it's about to crash. It's understandable, but unfortunate, that his friend doesn't get this. Like this is his level of not being able to go to the wedding, but with social anxiety o/w instead of agoraphobia.
Agoraphobic mum-to-be can be forced to hospital for birth, court rules
Quote:
Medics can use force to take a pregnant woman who has agoraphobia to hospital to give birth, a judge has ruled.
The 21-year-old has an "overwhelming" fear of leaving her home, the Court of Protection in London heard.
She wants a home birth - unless there is an emergency. But the NHS wants her to have the baby in a "planned way" in hospital, due to the increased risks if she gives birth at home.
Judge Mr Justice Holman said his ruling was in the woman's best interests.
He concluded that "proportionate" force could be used by specially-trained staff if she refused to leave home on a specified day near her due date.
This situation seems really odd, though, as lots of people have home births with midwives these days, so I don't really get what the problem is.
