Man I lived in Austin Texas. It hit 40C for months at a time.

I remember sitting in the Arizona desert, high on percocet and whiskey, smoking Marlboro No.27s on my grandparents' porch. I would take care of them for 18 hours a day and then unwind with the booze and pills at night. There was a monitor that I would take outside with me in case I needed to get one up for the bathroom but 99 times out of 100 they would sleep through the night. It would routinely swing from 25-30C at night to 40C+ in the daytime.

Those spring and summer nights (years before I had a smartphone) were some of my least troublesome when it came to substance abuse, and definitely the most important in terms of personal development. Part of me yearns for a chance to take care of them again with the knowledge I have now, but I am grateful for the year that I was able to spend with them regardless.

Worked in northern WA for 12 months.

Once had 80 something straight days of 37 degrees or hotter.

Only reason it dropped below 37 was because of a cyclone.

And I lived threw it.
