Thanks for your help. The stuff I never would have tried without your help took like 10 minutes. The hard parts were that the pex cutter is a POS and starts corkscrewing at the end of cuts leaving a little spiral bit hanging off, so each piece took about 5-6 cuts to get a clean edge, and I tried to remove a piece with the sharkbite release tool so I could try to cut it more cleanly but there was no way it was coming out. I was pulling so hard I was afraid I was going to yank the whole run of copper out. But getting everything to fit together was easy af.

You see how mine is further out at the bottom and each row is further back than the last? That's meant to make it so it doesn't get pushed out like that flat one you have there. Also I put about 6-8 inches of those small stones you see in the foreground of the first picture behind the wall so that there's good irrigation. I think I did that in 2010ish and the last time I visited my mom's it's still holding strong AF. Much better than the railroad ties that were there before.

Next time you're over I'll get you to redo mine. I had it replaced with railway ties pressure treated 6x6s because I got a friend to do it for about 20% of what a stone retraining wall was gonna cost
