I had to go downtown today with almost 4,500.00$ and pay back-taxes.

some mouthy, belligerent clown errr 'protester' was at a bus stop honoring the memory of George Floyd errrr heckling guardsmen and cops, and had to be told over the loud speaker to get out of the street.

stupid-ass city corresponded with me in 16, and I paid my taxes online promptly

then mysteriously no notice from them for 3 years, until they are about to put my house up for foreclosure auction.

in 17, 18 and 19 they thought it a good idea to send the letters to the mortgage company that was clearly no longer in the equation

lol bureaucracy hummin' along, efficient as ever

so I incurred massive late fees, interest etc

yeah. I do not understand all the legalese, but the city can put a lien on, I'd expect, any property that doesn't pay their property tax.
