Mkay let me break it down for you.

Wisconsin was projected to have a surplus of money. Then the Governor of Wisconsin gave $140 million in tax breaks to companies. Now we have deficit. To fill that deficit the Governor is trying to cut the state workers pay and also cut their collective bargaining rights. So people that traditionally get paid less than workers in the private sector are going to have to give up pay. Which is fine. The major unions have agreed to it, but they have not to agreed to give up the collective bargaining rights. The Governor has said no to just the money. This is about the Governor stripping the unions of their power. The Governor, who by the way gets campaign donations by the billionaire Koch brothers, who look to be the ones behind destroying the unions for their own personal gain. When you look at who donates to political campaigns the top 3 democratic donator are unions. You take these away and the Republican have a huge lead. I don't care if you are democratic or republican, but you have to realize that a one party system leads into a pseudo dictatorship. This is why 100,000 people, including me, protested on Saturday. This is happening in Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky and projected to happen in New Jersey. I hope you can see why so many people are so pissed about this.

the word "union" has developed some negative connotations over the years imo

Such as the "union" of husband and wife.

A union is pretty much an onion that bought the wrong vowel.

taking away the collective bargaining rights is a non sequitor when it come to "balancing the budget" its LOL. also the shadiest **** is the language that allows the sale of energy assets with no bid no oversight no nothing and especially with the koch bothers involved
